I should be good to go Austin. Actually discussed a trip with the wife last night and she's down. We're being cautious with her "preggers", but she should be in her 2nd trimester soon and it should be better for her.

Only weekend right now that is not good for us would be MLK weekend, which I believe is JAN 19. We can talk with Bobby and see what's good for him.

I'm going to post this up over in the 5th gen section to see if we can get any more notice.

I don't have any no-go dates as of right now. So if we can get a date planned out I'll make sure not to schedule anything for that weekend. I got lucky with class schedules this semester and got out Friday classes. So I'll most likely drive up Friday evening as well and camp. Mapquest shows I've got a three hour drive there.

Any of those weekends are good for me. I want to wheel too! I've only gotten to take my truck out once since i put the lift on :trophy:!

Let's call it Jan 26th. I know Bobby said middle of the month, which is more like the 12th, but later is better for my wife... Plus the monster truck show is the weekend of the 11th

Let's just plan for 26th, so people can start planning accordingly and if somebody has an issue come up, they can bring it up. Sound good?

If your names on the list and you'll be bring another wheeling vehicle partner copy the post add a +1 or +2 etc. and what rig they'll be in next to your name. If something comes up preventing you from coming and your names on the list please copy the post and remove it.

We'll set a meeting time as the weekend gets closer. I may or may not ride in friday night and camp for the weekend (weather permitted)

Also @ superman, fill everyone in on the details of how Gultches runs the tours and what not and let me know if we need to contact them to let them know we have a group coming.

I'll reach out to all of the local guys on my friends list as well as some of the other Carolina 4Runners I've seen on here to see if they're interested.

If it's your first time at Gulches, the owner or the guide will give you a tour of the park. It's really awesome. They'll usually look at the capabilities of the rigs and make the tour as exciting as they can. Then they'll cut you loose for the day. You'll also be required to pay a one time $5 registration fee on your first trip on top of the $25 per vehicle charge. I'll probably contact Skip, the owner, the week of the trip to let him know we're coming just as a heads up. That way we'll have a better idea of the size of the committed group.

Sweet! Sounds good. Tour sounds fine to me. I haven't got to do a whole lot of wheeling at all.

I've got a stock 4R, would this be something i should even venture into? I'm interested, but it's a decent ride from Raleigh, if i can only do a couple of the trails.... let me know fellows...

Should address some concerns you have and if you have specific questions feel free to ask here, on my BT or PM me. There's also a link to the Gulches website on there that has a map and some trail descriptions.

Last year I took my (then) stock 4Runner to Uwharrie in NC and it did all but the advanced trails (daniel and ****y bell). It did really well, but I did scrape underneath a few times...nothing serious. I do have the rear e-locker, and there were a couple of places that I would not have made it through without it. So if yours has the e-locker, i think you will be fine.

yep I ran URE stock for the first time to it wasn't to bad really just had to pick the right lines or back up an try again, I did it open center front an rear but cut a tire down due to having to spin tires instead of locking up an axle. Since all my mods I've hit every trail there now, you could make danials and D*ickybell your B*tch now
