In this case the numbers represent inch dimensions. 10 = 1", and 20 or 30 = 2" or 3". So 1020 is a 1" x 2" bar and 1030 is a 1" x 3" bar in cross section. 80/20 Inc also makes a line of metric extrusions that use a different 4 digit designator.
It's finally here !
Roof rack arrived and installed! As others have mentioned, quality is impressive and it looks even better in person. Went with the black cross bars and hardware . Thanks to previous posters for sorting out the hardware, I did pre-order some 80/20 T-nuts which I found in Canada here:

Has anyone bought the Extended Side Rails, any pictures would be a appreciated.
I used the ARB brackets — the heavier ones with the gussets - as well. Easy and solid install.
For anyone on the fence, I’ve been using this rack for about 6 months with thousands of miles on and off road. I use it all the time as a grab rail when loading the roof and it is solid. Have done a lot of driving at 80+ with a Roofnest Eagle on it and it’s quieter than I would expect. The Roofnest and this rack fit extremely well, which probably helps with wind. I lost a sliver of mpgs but not much — maybe a quarter mile per g. Btw, to mount the Roofnest, I suspended the tent from my garage ceiling on pulleys, attached two of my cross rails to the tent, lowered it onto the rack, adjusted the rails to align them, re-raised the tent and fully tightened the rails to the tent. During the week I drive short two rails. On weekends, I lower the tent, fasten the rails and drive off.
Overall it’s a great roof rack and has held up well with no bolts shaking loose or other structural issues. My only complaint (are you listening [MENTION=110183]SouthernSS[/MENTION] ) is that the channels in the cross bars don’t have a wider notch to insert the fastening nut. All they’d have to do is router out a small opening on one end of each channel (like they do on the back of the ARB Aluminum awning) to make it easy to insert mounting hardware. As it is, you need to disconnect the cross bar from the side rail to insert or remove mounting fasteners. Easy fix to make this rack so much more user friendly.

You can remove the crossbars that cover the moonroof without jeopardizing rigidity.

What lights are people using in the side rails? Some lights for camping would be perfect but I’m not spending the money for Rigid or Baja.
Hey all new to the T4R with a 2016 SR5... in which the previous owner decided to take the cross rails off of and not put them back on before selling to the dealer. awesome!
Anyway, I'm looking into rook racks like this Southern Syle one but whats up with the ridiculous prices on these things? Are there any that are decent full racks below $500?
I need to use it for work, i.e. putting a ladder up there, maybe 2x4s, 4x8 plywood in a pinch, conduit and other long stuff I can't fit inside.

It is very possible the previous owner never installed crossbars on the rack. They are a dealer option, not factory equipment.
Full Size? No.
The Baja Flat Utility Rack might be another option for your stated uses. But the price will be the same if not higher.

It has arrived
My SSO roof rack finally arrived Friday night. Installed it this weekend and am really happy with it. Installed the Rigid 40" light bar last night and love how low profile it is. This thing is solid. Next, I'll be installing the Rigid side scene lights. :banana::banana::banana:

Thanks to everyone on this thread for making it so in-depth and informative....this forum kicks ass! I have a question for those who have the SSO rack and have been using it...
I have an NFab rack. I enjoy it and it looks super cool. I did not research enough before buying and probably would have gone with this SSO rack...if I knew. So, before I buy this thing...I would love some community insight on how to use it for loose stuff. Would you mount a tray atop of the SSO? I guess you could, but seems silly. The Nfab, for example, provides the tray fitment to stabilize stuff and a little wind fairing up & over your load...which is usually sealed in a cargo zip-up bag set into the tray (for long journeys I take).
I like the flattop, tight on the roof, and wider stance of the SSO altogether. Obviously enables carrying ladders, Christmas trees, lumber, kayaks, etc possible...which I want.
My question (finally...sorry); any recommendations on securing and fairing loose cargo on this SSO rack? Just tie it down tight..and that's it?

Hey John, i think that's a fair question.
As the SSO rack has slotted rails, you can install nearly anything you want -- whether it is rack specific or not. As long as you can create or find a mounting point via generic T-bolts, you are good to go.
I am going down this road with a Yakima ski rack, but you could do this with a roof top tent (mounted in the summer for me), bag, basket, etc.

For smaller gear, a basket or cargo tote is likely the way to go. For larger gear (ice chest, large tents, firewood, etc.) you can likely go directly to the rack if you are confident in your tie down approach.

You're welcome. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know about the roof rack. I did a lot of research and looked at all the numerous options out there and ultimately decided to go with SSO and I'm so glad I did. I really like that no drilling was necessary. That was the deciding factor.
I plan on adding more pictures once I get my sPod installed and all my lights wired and hooked up. sPod, light bar, and side scene light wiring should be going in on Wednesday night. Going to pickup up the iKamper Skycamp rooftop tent Thursday afternoon. Ready for a camping trip with the family soon after.
This roof rack is highly recommended!!! Hat's off to SSO for a great product. :hatsoff:

OMGsh...I did not know about those taller side rails...that's fantastic. Really appreciate the insight. I'm sold. Definitely getting one of these.
What do you want all included in the pics? Just the look or how they were set up/cable management too?
