SSO Roof Rack light cut out or not
For those of you guys that have lights, any regrets? Should I order the light cut out for the future? My reason for ordering the rack is to haul kayaks and that's my only concern right now. Any issues with annoying hood glare? Thanks for the help.

I added side and rear lights but I did not do the front light bar. It seems almost everyone who does the roof mounted light bar mentions hood glare or windshield glare. especially if its dusty. I just couldn't see spending $1k + on a light bar for a location that would be more of a hindrance than usable.
I do have an in-grill light bar that I use instead.
I don't remember having this experience, but I just returned home from a trip and will be washing the vehicle tomorrow, so I'll keep a look out.
In the rain since the car is staying wet its not noticeable or I just didn't think about it. But when I am drying it off and there is a pristine shine and I see a slow steady stream of water going down for a couple hours it really became noticeable for me. then looking into the t-slots they were all pretty full of water.

[EDIT] You might have meant the front LED light bar? Far as I know, thats still an option, the side lights are what I am talking about.
I ordered one withOUT the cut outs, and was sent one with cutouts,
when I contacted them they said they are all the same now and have cut outs.
but they never updated the site.
I used these, they are the cheapest option that are known to fit, seem well made, plenty bright.

Just an update on the feedback here from the past. Over the past month, month and a half we have been working on the following:
-Better customer service
-Better correspondence
-Better quality control
-Decreasing lead times
-Hiring/Training/Maintaining our new shipping department
While we have slowed down on some of our lead times on bumpers due to a huge sale, we have actually started to improve our lead times on the roof rack situation. Currently our roof racks are about 6 weeks out, we have dramatically cut down the lead times on our roof racks while focusing more on the quality of them. We appreciate all the feedback from you guys, and for being a valued customer.

Correct fractional length
When ordering the bars which is the correct fractional length?

Element lights
After looking at your pictures, I'm liking your Element side lights. Happy with them? I'm thinking about ordering 4 for my rack. Did you split them with with switches for right and left? I'm new to all of this and trying to figure out how I'm going to wire everything... I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on them. Thanks

Far as I know, they are the cheapest option that is confirmed to fit in the rack.
Thats not to say they are junk, they put out alot of light, almost too much to have on all night at camp. But great for setting up camp, or side lighting on the trail.
They are a nice wide flood, though since they point straight out, they dont light the ground right beside the 4R as much as they do a few feet out. But I think any will do that.
They need to design some that mount flat, but are angled down, that would be perfect.
I have mine wired up all in one, but if I were to do it again, I would separate each side.
This way if you pull into camp, you can light up one side, and not blast your camping neighbors if you dont need to.
Also, I just mounted an ARB awning, and wanted it nice and low profile,,,, so it ends up covering the lights on that side :/

Anyone know how the spacing of the rails compares to Prinsu, Front Runner, or Rhino Rack? I'm considering the SSO rack but I'd like to be able to use some accessories from the other guys.
Seems like we need published specs on the center to center distance between crossbars and rail positions to really nail compatibility but I figured maybe someone has tried some accessories already. Thanks.

I don't know them off-hand, but I do know the rails on my SSO rack are not all evenly spaced. Ended up drilling holes twice on my jerry can holder because of that.

This was the case at one time, but customers pointed out the issue with spacing and we have since fixed this.

I ordered a rack over six weeks ago on August 10th and the order seems to be stuck in the first step of "processing". I've called customer service multiple times and left voice messages which have not been returned. I'm not in a huge hurry to get the rack but we are getting close to the estimated 8-10 week delivery estimate and I want to make sure that there wasn't a problem with the order and that it is indeed being built. My credit card was charged upon placing the order so that gives me some comfort. Has anyone else who has ordered a rack recently also noted that their order status on the SSO website is not progressing?

Mine was still processing when it was at my front door. I don’t think that system is updated frequently. After finally getting everything it’s not a big deal but while you’re sitting there waiting with absolutely zero communication it’s really annoying.
I’ve posted in this thread and spoke to them on the phone about the issues. Not once was there an apology. All I hear were excuses why things happened. I think they make and design good products but after that I won’t be purchasing again.
