I recently upgraded to a 2011 limited from my 3rd gen limited. The previous owner of the 5th gen had put 275/55/20 tires on it. I love the look of the bigger tires but wanted to ask if I would run into issues using the spare, the spare is 245/60/20. I wasn't sure if there would be axle issues because of the full time 4wheel drive and the smaller spare tire. My thought was it would be okay as long as I didn't have transfer case locked, as it is when in H4L or low range. It doesn't look like there is any room for a larger tire under the vehicle.

Hi mudflap,
I'm running the same size tires as you're using; "see signature below". The spare is just that... a spare! It's only meant to be used in an emergency situation. If you take a look at the rim of the spare, you'll see that it's yellow; coated w/ an epoxy finish to protect it from the harsh environment under the truck. You won't damage the axles or T/C just using the spare to get the flat fixed, so have no concerns. But you don't want to ride on miss/matched wheels for any length of time either because the truck's "stability systems" are calibrated to be at a certain height and pitch, so that'll become a problem if you ignore the manual's guidelines.
