Spare wheel

Hello, can anyone help :biggrin2:

I have a flat and cannot get the spare off, no user manual to check with !

I have the long hooked bar that appears to go in to the rear bumper and attach onto something that will lower the spare but I am missing a trick (I think) as I cannot connect onto anything :bash:

What year is your truck?
Don't know if it will help, but attached is a picture from the 2006 manual.
Someone at your dealer should be able to help talk you through it. Or, you could pay $10 to access the Toyota Tech Info Web site (http://techinfo.toyota.com) and download your Owner's Manual in PDF format. (When it opens each section, just use the Save button in Adobe Reader to save the file.)

took me a while to find the right spot the first time.. I actually crawled under the truck attempting to find/guide it.

Since then, Ive been able to find it much easier.. One tip, the bar does not find it if perpendicular(northsouth) from the bumper.. I find it at NNE, or maybe 1 o'clock.

Brute force required, hook on end of bar fits into a cup not round something !

Many thanks, greased up movement and chain and all works fine now.
