Speaker/base rattle in new t4r

I have a 2013 sr5 t4r which I bought new this summer. The problem is I've always gotten a rattle from the speaker(s) on the passenger side door. When certain songs play, or when it's turned up, I get a noticeable rattling sound(mostly during low base notes)that shouldn't be there. I didn't expect to see anything loose on a new toyota right from the factory, I don't know what's the problem. Thinking of going by the dealership to attempt to get this fixed, it's very annoying.

Go back and get it fixed. This is what a warranty is for. No vehicle is perfect, regardless of who makes it. Mine has worse issues than a speaker rattle....will those issues affect the overall reliability of the vehicle at 200k miles? Nope..so were good. My guess is that something didn't get tightened all the way. Find a song that reproduces this issue every time and play it for them. It will be fixed and you will be on your way

If you do a quick search with your same thread topic you will find many others also have this issue including me. Some have also posted fixes and how-to's. If I apply pressure to the lower door section beneath the armrest it goes away.

Anyway, as mentioned, take it to he dealer at your next service or try and fix it yourself.

I've got it in the rear passenger door. I need to go to the dealer and have it fixed too. Mine is in a '12 Trail.

I have the same issue. When I took it in for 5,000 mile check up the stealer said they could not replicate the vibration. Took it in for 10,000 service they said the same thing. I will keep insisting that there is a vibration, which there is, in hopes that they will get tired of hearing about it and take the door panel off to fix the problem. Just keep documenting that they cannot find it.

Have the same issue - just scheduled a visit the stealership. Hopefully, they won't this matter worse off.

Interesting, in that mine is intermittent. When it's not there, I think the stereo (non JBL) sounds good. I even like it better when 'party mode' is off.

Curious because everybody seems to have the rattle in a different place.

I don't have a rattle but I get speaker buzz with too much bass or just on certain songs, especially when in Party mode. I've had to adjust the bass to about 1/3 off it's range to stop the speaker vibration. Majority of the time everything sounds normal now. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have 2013 Ltd 4runner and i have same problem with front passenger speaker that rattles on certain songs that have a lot of bass. Ive taken my car multiple times to TOyota dealer. They replaced my speaker and according to the receipt i was given, they found a tear on the speaker. Howeve, problem continues to persists and i told them about it. I came back to have them look at it and they basically said, ummm, it's normal to rattle every now and then and that they cant do anything anymore. I have a 1998 toyota 4runner and i never have that problem.

I called toyota corporate headquarters and they told me to go to another dealer to get a second opinion. It is very frustrating and annoying. They wasted a lot of my time already going back and forth to dealers and i know something is defective but they cant seem to locate it.

I asked them if they are hearing of the same problems similar to time, they said no.

Maybe you guys can also call corporate headquarters to let them know?

I pulled mine off and added some sound deadener. Put a bead of silicon where the arm rest and plastic meets and fixed the issue.
