I haven't done an search for them. I found out about them here. The only 2 that have concerned me were the sunroof rattle, and sulfur exhaust smell. My dealership won't do the sulfur TSB unless they can duplicate the problem.

I usually have that problem. But I just move the seat until I feel it locks into place..

Powered Seats

I am planning on ordering a 2005 Sport V-8 4WD 4-Runner.
However, this discussion about the seat movement causes me some concern. Is it correct to say there is no way around the problem if one wants to purchase a Sport Edition because only manual seats are available on Sports and powered seats are n ot available?

Supposedly Toyota has found a fix. I have been working with a regional guy and they are going to try to apply this fix to my seat next week. I will post the results.

Hi All,
This is my first post and I'm glad I'll be able to contribute something after learning so much from this forum.

Anyway, I had my 04, SR5 serviced yesterday at Lighthouse Toyota in St Augustine FL for this problem. The drivers seat seemed to be loose and knocks everytime I moved on my seat, braked etc. It just got too annoying.

The service guys ordered some parts and said that they basically had to replace the underframe and the tracking of the seat. It was almost a three hour work. Now its as good as new.

Is the seat problem covered under the 12 month 12K mile warranty or the 36 month 36K mile warranty?

They fixed it without charging me and not sure what warranty was utilized. But I bought my SUV last June and had 5K on it.

The reason I ask is I have 9K miles on my 4runner, my set is "OK" but makes some noise. If it is only covered under the 12 month 12K warranty I will make a complaint before I get past 12K if it is 3/36K warranty then I will wait to see how it does. Has anyone that has over 12K miles on their 4runner had their seat fixed and covered under warranty???

My 4runner came with a 3yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper and a 5yr/60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Also there is a 6yr/100,000 mile warranty for rust through I think.
The emmissions equipment warranty is also a long period, I would have to check my manual for that one.

What is 12month/12,000 miles for?

Very strange. I've got about 5k miles on my truck and haven't had any problems with the seat at all. Hopefully this doesn't start happening? Is it possible to get power seats on cloth, or is it only on the Limited leather?

Never heard of the 12K mile one......36K bumper to bumper would cover everything.

12 month 12K mile adjustment period. Guess the 36 month 36K mile warranty applies to the seat problem. That's great, I will keep an eye on mine.
