just-in Holmes Flat Search & Rescue, RP rec’d call from friend who was trying to cross the river at Holmes Flat but vehicle got stuck, now it’s being washed downstream, black Toyota 4-Runner, unk exact location. HCSO responding Code 3; attempting to call out Coast Guard & other resources
11:42 p.m.
just-in HCSO Dispatcher on phone with the trapped person, he’s been floating downstream about 30 minutes, roof of truck is about 1-foot above water level, his phone battery won’t last much longer, but he will call back on 9-1-1- to help them get his lat/long. He’s wearing a sweater & jeans but is still dry
Follow up, no pics but the 4Runner was washed down river and totally submerged. Still in the river.

just-in HCSO 1X1 (sergeant) advises that the man “has been reunited with his family,” all units are clear, and the truck will be retrieved in the morning.
12:34 a.m.
just-in CalFire BC got the lat/long for the submerged truck for Fortuna ECC to make notification for its retrieval. Incident Command is terminated, Redcrest Chief 6700 is clear

just-in HCSO sergeant advises that Fortuna Ambulance can cancel and return to their quarters, Coast Guard helo was already canceled

just-in HCSO sergeant was in contact with family members, trying to get them to meet back up. Holding the ambulance briefly.

just-in Redcrest Fire Chief 6700 advises rescue has been completed, subj is out of the water, all incoming units can cancel and return to their quarters

just-in Redcrest Chief 6700 on scene, will be Holmes IC. Access will be Holmes Flat Rd to crossing off Larrabee, reported now to be upriver from there.

just-in Bridgeville Fire now added to the river rescue response

just-in HCSO deputy & sergeant are out on foot toward the river from the end of Tierney Rd. Loleta Fire and Eel River Valley Technical rescue also being toned out to respond.

just-in Re: Holmes: CalFire, Redcrest Fire, So Humboldt Technical Rescue, Fortuna Ambulance dispatched; first unit on scene will be “Holmes IC.” HCSO advises fog if fairly heavy in area, unk if Coast Guard helo will be able to get in, but they were gearing up and would provide an ETA as soon as possible
