Sprint Booster

It's most definitely quicker to 60! This still is the best thing I've ever bought. I have them on both my trucks but not on the 3rd gen since it's cable driven but it makes all of them as quick as my 3rd gen responds to my foot.

Thanks, there are certainly a lot of positive reviews. Having had several performance vehicles in the past, I like to see quantifying evidence of performance ( i.e. 0-30MPH; 0-60MPH; Quarter Mile times)

I think it may improve your 0-60 (you'd kinda be foolish to measure this on a 4runner lol) but only by virtue of eliminating the throttle lag. However you quantify this based on your driving habits is different for everybody.

I think people misunderstand the SB. It's a quality of life improvement where, instead of stepping half way on the throttle to get a bit of a meatier acceleration, the sprint booster allows you to only step 1/3 on the pedal, for example. So, compared to your original driving habits, you have to do less to achieve the same goals as before. It may also let you get into the powerband faster depending on what setting you have it at.

The throttle became a lot more controllable and predicable when I installed the SB. Before the SB, I could hit the gas and there'd occasionally be such a lag (never measured the time) to the point where it'd make you go, "what the ****? go you piece of shit!" Those words have never came out of my mouth since I installed the DB on my daily commute. If anything, I occasionally think the SB overreacted and made the car drop by one too may gears -with that, I just adjust the setting to be less aggressive/responsive (e.g. drop from green 9 to green 7 or 8).

There's no difference. It's just much more responsive when you press on the pedal.

Says someone who has never have driven with one. I'm in a 4runner, who the hell takes one to the track and get 0-60 times. Be like going to a Kia race.
I can promise you and all the other non believers it's quicker only because its faster off the line by a lot.
You have nothing to lose, buy it, don't like it, send it back

Made my purchase with Jason

So many different vendors but decided to make a purchase with Jason at Burtman Industries, since I been reading a bunch of good things from other buyers experience.

Excited and can’t wait to experience no pedal lag!!!

Had mine in now for about 2 weeks. Love it. I think setting Sport 9 is the best.

Have fun!

Yep. Now we just need to get someone with a 5th gen to download one of those 0-60 apps on their phone and do before and after :)

Glad to help you out and please come back after you install it and post your feedback.

Sounds like it makes the throttle response much better also sounds like no improvement in acceleration times. That would required more horsepower, which the product does not do. Hey, I think it's great that it makes the vehicle respond better. It's an inexpensive solution to what I will agree is blah throttle response. I have a heavy foot, so I don't really notice a problem . Doesn't have the 500 HP my old Corvette had, but its a 4WD truck.

I installed the Sprint Booster last weekend. Although my '19 TRD isn't my DD at this time, my wife and I did some running around with it and it totally changed the experience from bus-like to a much more spirited feel. I also added the S&B intake which added what feels like a tad quicker spin-up. You'll love it.

I have the sprint booster, and personally, I love it. I had been driving my off road premium around with it for a while. I took it out when I traded it in for my TRD PRO. I was so used to the sprint booster that it made the PRO seem so sluggish. First thing I did when I got home was to install my sprint booster. It makes a huge difference in throttle response and overall drivability.

I haven't personally done a 0-60 comparison as I really don't care about drag racing a 4runner. I have seen a few videos on youtube, however, where a comparison has been done. One was in a Jeep Wrangler, one in a BMW and one in a Tacoma, I believe. In all tests, it did improve 0-60 times. It obviously doesn't add more power but it greatly improves throttle response. It eliminates that delay when you mash the pedal. The improved 0-60 time results just from the elimination of that delay.

Green 7 seems to be my sweet spot. Sometimes I'll back it down to 5 or 3 offroad, but for daily street/highway, green 7 is the shiznit.

You have a heavy foot, awesome. Try the sprint booster and I can promise you that you'll be amazed at no matter how hard or fast your currently mashing your pedal you will wonder why have you missed all this time. It's not just me. ask or PM any member here that's bought one. Plug it in, buckle your seat belt and enjoy

I couldn’t have said it better myself. And yea, after you plug it in. Run it for 2 weeks then hit the button to turn it off (that puts it back to stock) and you’ll crap your pants on how much of a slug it feels like. It’s crazy the difference.

I have read a lot of the positives, and but what are the negatives or potential pitfalls? I understand that it doesn't add horsepower - there is always that guy that repeats what has been discussed over and over. And by eliminating the delay to acceleration, you would have to improve your 0-60 time, you are literally taking a delay off - the definition of delay is literally "make (someone or something) late or slow". My question is for the mechanics in the room - I have a new Runner with less than 1k miles. I want to get one, but what could the negatives be to an engine by this product, and should I give the engine another 1k miles before I start hard revving this beast?

Thanks for any info

^^^^^This!

I’m in the same boat...2020 with less than 300 miles on it. Not looking to drag race, but a little better response would be nice.

Yesterday, I ordered the Sprint Booster (via Jason's website). It'll go on my Cav Blu 2018 PRO.

I also own a 2008 Limited V8. Comparing it to my 2018 PRO - it gets off the line much, much quicker...so I'm hoping the Sprint Booster will equal/exceed what I "feel" in my 2008.

Looking forward to getting it and trying it out!

Update: Heard from Jason and the Sprint Booster I ordered will ship out next week! Can't wait! Thanks for everything Jason!

Got mine from Jason the other day, but been too busy to install it. Had a few things to also do to the T4R tonight and decided to do that, too. Install was a snap...

...HOLY BUCKETS!!! So much better response, smoother shifting and a bit more growl from the TRD Pro exhaust. This is how it should have been in the first place!!!
Dmsea1 I was concerned like you, but I don’t find it revving any higher. In fact, the throttle being more responsive and smoother make it so much easier to control the revs. Did I get on it a few times just for giggles? Yep, but just out of curiosity. I found Green (Sport) 7 to be he setting I liked best. I wouldn’t worry much about getting one. Totally worth it!

I installed my Sprint Booster with about 700 miles on the clock. But you talk about "hard reving" as if we only drive at the track. With the Booster, I'm not reving any harder than normal or any harder than our other 3 vehicles. The car is simply more responsive.
