Sprint Iphone 5/4S

That is standard across the board man! Every carrier requires a 2 year period (more or less). The good news for you is that by the time you can upgrade, the Iphone 5 will be out, which should only improve upon the Iphone 4S features! For me getting the 4S now, i will be bypassing the Iphone 5 completely. But, i like to own one of the last Iphone design that got approved by the late Steve Jobs. :)
 
im pretty happy with my phone right now, only bad thing is the camera sucks, and it also has less memories and battery life than the iphone 4s, but i guess i'll just weight
 
for anyone involved with jailbreaking their iDevices, hackers just finished porting Siri to iDevices with A4 chips so we can now get Siri on the iPhone 4!

That's amazing...i thought that you need the dual-core chip to be able to do Siri efficiently/effectively??? That's cool though.
 
iPhones, learning to do the same things Androids been doin for years now. :)


Only thing that sucks is iPhone is alot more stable..... I'm up for a new phone here next month and I was actually pondering getting the iPhone 5, but Apple took care of that for me. Nexus Prime here we come!

To be honest, i don't mind that Apple is behind some of Android's tech. It reminds me of Lexus in the early days where they copied Mercedes technology. The best thing about doing this is that the 2nd edition of any technology is usually better & more stable than the 1st edition.

Apple products are very stable...when i had my Epic phone, it would crash at all the wrong times! Battery comes out and reboot process all over again.

BTW, what was it that you did NOT like about the Iphone 4S and that you wish it had?? My ONLY complaint was the 3.5 screen and lack of Flash...but, at least now, i can see the point of the 3.5 screen (easier to navigate with one hand), since this is a phone first and foremost. But, yeah, as an entertainment center, it lags behind the best of Androids due to the screen size and lack of Flash. But, Siri is far superior to anything Android has had. Camera on Iphone has traditionally been superior. Software integration remains a strong point.

That's what everyone thought, but the dual core processor turned out to not have much to do with it at all. See all of Siri's information is stored on a server. It was fairly easy for them to figure out how to enable Siri on other devices besides the 4S, the hard part was figuring out how to route the requests to the Siri server. Once they tapped into the server, they were golden. This also adds some proof that Siri was purely marketing and Apple would most likely be implementing Siri into other newer iDevices in the future. The problem is that if left to Apple, they wouldn't have Siri on other devices for another year. Just like the 3G not having a video camera forever a few years back
 
For those with Sprint smartphones, what speeds (download & upload) are you getting on the Sprint data network?

that makes sense, i usually just turn on the 4g when i need fast internet, most of the time i just keep the 3g on for emails

For me, i live on the border of 4G...so, 4G connection is on/off affair, whereby it is on one minute and off the next! :( So, 4G is not all that great where i live...and likely not improve much since Sprint will switch from Wimax to LTE with the next few years. This is part of the reason why i am not losing much data speed by going with Iphone 4S instead of the Android 4G phones.

But, now, the 3G speeds are pretty bad due to overwhelming the network...Sprint promises to make it faster as they adapt to this rapid growth (courtesy of Iphone 4S).

Yeah, you're very lucky!! How's your battery life with 4G?? According to rumors, this was why Apple did not incorporate 4G into their phones because they did not want to decrease battery life on their phones, esp. those with power-hungry dual-core processors.

with 4g off it last the whole day and then some, with it on it last about 5-6 hours depend on how much i use it, if im on TW or T4r all the time, checking my email, txting and FBing constantly it last about 3-4 hours, but i always keep the screen brightness down and have a app killer
 
but im really liking the new galaxy s II it has better hardware and same screen size display, with much longer lasting battery life. and i only cost 50 dollars more than the evo 4g

Yeah, 4G kills battery life. Now, i may be outdated, but when i had my Android phone, "app killer" apps were controversial. In fact, for Froyo and Gingerbread, these app killers are obsolete because the newer Android updates manage apps very well already. The app killers actually eat up battery life more than improve it. Even on Eclair, app killers were a mixed bag. So, you may want to check your EVO forums to see if that is true or not.

Yeah, if i were to buy an Android phone today, then it would be Galaxy SII or Motorola Photon. SII has a beautiful screen and top-notch hardware (it is Samsung afterall!) but it is too big, not a world phone, and traditionally bad aftersale service. Photon has a Retina-like screen and a true world phone, but not so good interface and bad camera.

But, i would not buy either one if i could wait. I am looking forward to the Nexus Prime! If the rumors are true, then THAT is the phone that you want! But, it will be big!
