SR5 Center console?

What's up with the center console on the 2010 SR5 ? when you open it up it is wide and long on the top half and then becomes a smaller size at the bottom. they give you a partition you can put across the inside of the console that when you push it down stops at the top of the smaller area at the bottom ( you have two choices forward or rearwards to place it ). But anything you put in there just slips under the partition because of the partition just resting on air.
My question is am I missing a part or something? Is there supposed to be a plate or a door that covers the smaller area at the bottom of the console so items don't pass under the partition?

Thanks!

Here's my center console on the SR5 with everything removed. Notice where I have the partition? I like it there to keep small things up front. If you use the partition in the middle of the console, you will have some space below it, so I do not think you are missing anything. I guess it does seem weird that in the center partition position, there's some empty space.

Thanks,
I guess my console has all the parts because it looks like the pictures above except I have the plug in outlets in mine.

Does anyone have a part number for the black plastic separator discussed above? I'm considering some storage ideas for the console and would like to buy a second separator but none of my searching has produced a part number or location to order that exact part.

Thanks!

I have one of these in my center console:

It does a great job of organizing all of my belongings, and it also prevents them from vibrating/shifting around while I drive. SLR camera bags seem to fit perfectly in this console.

Bump for the part number. I don't see this part in the parts manual and no searching has helped. Maybe I'm just reading the parts book wrong. Any help for a source for this part would be much appreciated.

WV - After no luck finding a part number or otherwise getting a second plastic divider, I made one out of some thin balsa wood from the hobby store. A little bit of time with a drimel tool and some black spray paint, and it does the job. not what I would have preferred, but it works. I can get you pics or more info as needed.

Yes, please do.
I can not beleive this item is so hard to get a hold of! I even have a WTB in the classified section.

Is there really No one out there that wants to sell theirs?

Yes, please do.
I can not believe this item is so hard to get a hold of!

As promised. I'm no artist with wood, but I bought two pieces of light wood (balsa or the like), each about half the overall thickness of the divider. I then cut a slot in the side of each, such that when they are glued together, they have the needed notch to slide down over the grooves. I used the original divider as a pattern to cut it to shape and then painted it black. Very un-scientific, but it works.

Any one want to sell there divider for $20 bucks?

Very cool, it looks like that's the route i am going to have to go! Unless i can convince someone to sell me their divider, any takers for $20.00 bucks?

Anyway here is what i am working on for my console. I added two pure sine wave inverters and a extra 12VDC cig socket. I need the other divider to finish off the small shelf for the console. currently i have made up a lexan shelf and an aluminum shelf. Not sure which one I am going to use yet. The wiring is still a mess but should soon be cleaned up.

The power for all of this comes from the battery via a 12 gauge zip wire. I ran it to a voltage controlled switch then to a small fuse box. I plan to run my heated seats off of one of the circuits left.

Get one of the Salex organizers.

I bought one of those for my parents' Highlander and it was the cheapest made, most flimsy POS ever!!! Maybe I will pay a visit to a local Toyota dealer and try to find an unlocked 4Runner on their lot or showroom >:D
