New to this an apologize if this has been covered. Long story short, I purchased a 2011 LTD 3 months ago and my wife loved it so much that she took it and gave me the 11 Honda Pilot. So now I am looking again at the 4 runner. We have 3 kids and need the 3rd row seat. Figured I would get the SR5 with 3rd row, premium PKG, leather and NAV. So my question is it worth doing this to save $2000-$3000? Is the stereo really that much different? I do like a nice stereo since I gave up my 09 Acura TL with the ELS stereo system. Also, is there a difference in the ride?

For me the Limited was worth the upgrade for these reasons:
I don't go on trails, so I was looking for comfort. The limited gave me the most comfort.
- Full time 4x4
- Leather seats
- Heated seats
- Dual zone Air
- XREAS Suspension
- Sunroof
- 20" Wheels
- Upgrade Instrument Panel
- Display Audio Navigation with Entune
- Better looking interior (Only in my opinion)
- Leather trimmed interior
- Smart Key System

for me the difference in the ride was noticeable in the fact that the limited to me seemed less bouncy or truck like. Also the leather trim, nav and sunroof were a must for me. The sound system in the limited has a lot to be desired in that my Avalon had the JBL package as well but whereas the Avalon had separates in the front and rear for a total of like 12 speakers if memory serves the 4runner has 8 and the sound delivery is very lopsided as you hear the side that you are closer on more and in the avi you felt as if you were surrounded or enveloped by the music.
Looks like I would get the following with the Prem PKG

* (PT) Premium Package - includes Display Audio with Navigation [5] and Entune™ [6], leather-trimmed and multi-stage heated front seats, 8-way power driver's seat with power lumbar support, 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, leather-trimmed second-row seat, leather-trimmed steering wheel, courtesy lamps, power tilt/slide moonroof with sunshade and one front and one cargo area 120V AC power outlet

Are you talking 4wd LE vs 4wd SR5? If so then there is also a big difference in the drivetrain. 4WD LE has all wheel drive in addition to a locking center dif.
Xreas is a crosslinked suspension system that helps keep the vehicle level while cornering. When the vehicle corners and starts to lean the system pressurizes the outer shocks to help minimize body roll. It does this by hydraulically pushing fluid from the inner shocks to the outer shocks. The suspesnion in linked in an "X" pattern.
, then definitely go with the Limited. Suspension, dash display, push button start, etc...

Of course there is a dive. The suspension's different. 30K on my SR5 with no problems. Depends on what you want. One word of caution though: Scattered throughout this thread are people's opinions on the 5G 4Runner that do not own one. If you do not own one how can you express an opinion? A 20 minute test drive? Just pay attention and go off your opinion.

As far as I can tell I only three people in this thread don't own one and I am one of them. One other has one ordered. I will be picking mine up in about 1h45m.
I made no negative comments towards the SR5. I simply stated the reasons I chose the Limited. I did test drive both though.

If you don't care about Entune's options, I would recommmend the Nav w/ JBL 15 speaker system. I specifically got a 2011 w/ the Nav w/ JBL 15 speaker system instead of the 2012 Entune that my dealer had. There's a huge difference between the 15 and 8 speakers as someone previously pointed out. So far, I love my Ltd.

I've owned a 2011 Limited for 4 months now. Definitely worth it. I didn't even consider the SR5.

Coming from an SR5 owner, get the LTD. Looking back I would have gone with the LTD. the smart key and suspension alone would have made it worth it to me. My wife and I also have a Prius with smart key and I hate having to pull out my keys to unlock and start my T4R. Also would be nice to have a little less body roll and brake dive. The other upgrades are just icing on the cake (nav, jbl, etc.).
With that being said, I love my SR5. Had I known how much I'd miss the smart key I would have gone with a LTD. I'm looking to add the aftermarket smart key system, I just don't really trust an alarm shop cutting into all that wiring. If you Go with the LTD, swap those 20's for some TE (or even SR5) wheels.
