SRQ-Runner Build Thread

4runner looks great Matt! Must be nice getting the hookup with all these companies through your business haha. Did you get your hood and fenders painted by a local shop in Tallahasse? Seeing you color matching everything really makes me want to buy a sport hood soon

Yeah I had a shop in Tallahassee do it for me. I also had him fix a few dents for me and blend the new paint through the front doors. For the cost I'm extremely impressed with the paint so far.

Took the weekend off and drove down to Daytona. Another 700 mile round trip for the truck and once again didn't have any issues. With 110 degree intake temperatures and the AC blasting my fuel economy took a big hit. Plan on giving the engine a good tune up here soon. It may be time for some boost and a cam!

Curious. What cv axles are you using ? And outter tie rods?

Do stock tundra cv axles work for long travel?

Any plans for dual shocks in front ?

Love those PRP seats, was it a lot of work modifying the brackets to fit them? What did you end up doing?

The Tacoma brackets don't line up very well at all. The two outside mounts need to be cut off, reworked, and welded back on to make them fit. I've talked with PRP about getting a 3rd gen into their shop so they can design a bolt in bracket for us.

I'm 2wd so no CV axles here. The kit comes with tie rod extensions so you just reuse your stock tie rods.

Stock Tundra CV axles don't work. They need to be modified to work with 3rd gens hence why most LT companies offer them as a option with the kits.

Yep! Coming soon

Wait, you're 2wd? Love this truck, looks like I need to start at the beginning of this build.

Now a dealer for Baja Designs so figured I'd pick up some new ditch lights. The quality of these lights is pretty incredible, excited to get them hooked up. I have a decent amount of their products up on the site here https://www.srqfabrications.com/bajadesigns.

Finally got some spindle gussets to go with the LT kit.

The new rear setup is currently being designed by MCM Fab and ADS. 2.5" Bypasses with 3 tubes and a resi. Here's a photo of MCM getting some measurements. These shocks will also be available for purchase in a smooth body option with resi.

BD Squadron pros are mounted up. Holding off on wiring until I get my new switch panel and relay box setup.

Also picked up these bad boys for a front dual shock setup. The list of parts needing to go onto the truck is growing quickly.

A lot has happened since the last update.

Got the engine and transmission pulled by Toyota for a complete reseal. Every gasket/seal was replaced in both. Also got a new radiator, clutch, and flywheel put in.
