Stereo question install

Now here's my delima...it came with a microphone that connects to the back. no biggie right...until I try to figure out how to snake the line and attach it to where ? the best placement - by the visor or on the dash right in front of the steering wheel?

and since the stereo antenna have different ends to them, I've found the Y adaptor and they should both fit in the female ends even though one is bigger than the other....(lol stop it..that's what she said)..LOL

by the way...all that new room under the stereo w/o the amp!

I would try to place the microphone somewhere near the top of your hvac controls or near the gauge cluster. To snake the wiring up to the visor will be a challenge. Keep it away from the window or speakers to reduce noise.

And, I think you will still need an adapter to plug the smaller diversity antenna into your splitter.https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-Mda-B-Micro-Antenna-Adapter/dp/B00009UHRI

And you may want to put a switch in line with the blue wire which powers the antenna. I've found that under most circumstances the powered antenna is unnecessary. Having it cycle every time you turn the key will eventually kill the motor.

I'd need that adaptor for the skinny plug to fit into the Y adaptor yes?
I switched to a fixed antenna last year as the motor antenna was broke and driving me nuts.

My Kenwood, instructs me to snake it up and stick it tot he top of the steering column. In the past I've seen that and up top corner of the windshield.

I just installed my Sign DIN Kenwood in my 4Runner and took a lot of pics for an install guide, but can't post a new thread since I don't have enought posts. :redbrick:

Run it under the dash, up the pillar and mount it to the headliner in the corner or to the visor. Take a flathead screwdriver and use that to gently push the wire behind the pillar molding.

I could send you my 300+ cds to put on one of those thumb things
