Stock antenna has 2 plugs for some reason... IDK

The small antenna socket is for the antenna built in to the passenger cargo window, the big one for the power antenna. The stock radio has a diversity antenna thingy to use which ever gets the best signal.
When I changed mine I just plugged in the big power antenna. You can get a splitter to connect both big and small to the socket but I don't know if it would do anything if the aftermarket radio hasnt got the diversity circuitry?

The antenna question has already been answered...you'll be ok just using the one with the new radio. To answer your other question, the two white plugs are for speakers and one goes to the stock amp. When you have the harness off your new HU, it will have two tails off of one plug...one goes to each of those on the stock side.

Thanks. How come the power antenna doesn't go up even though I have that one plugged in to my new stereo?
There should be a power ant wire on the wire harness of the new radio that controls the up/down power.

It's the same signal wire you would use to power up a sub. I put a switch on mine so that could raise and lower it as I see fit instead of it always going up and down.

There is, but on the manual, it reads: "Depending on what antenna you are using, connect either to the control terminal of the motor antenna, or to the power terminal for the booster amplifier of the film-type antenna."
Since I don't have a "film-type antenna", I left that wire disconnected. Should I connect that wire?

No this is my stock radio which I am replacing with an aftermarket one I bought off Amazon.

Get the antenna adaptor and the Toyota wire kit from Amazon or eBay. If you wire the plug correctly your power antenna will function as it does now. Don't forget to take out the factory amp. The new head unit in an after market unit already has a better amp built in. The plug going into the amp is the one that fits the new head unit. The amp is mounted on top of the hump low behind the dash bezel. Use a dedicated ground.
You need a toyota wire harness to wire to the harness that came with the aftermarket one. I used this one when i did it recently, and these butt connectors. If you have a stock amp you need to use the connector from the back of it not the one coming out of it, but sounds like you dont have one.

Dont try to connect the dimmer wire if theres one on the toyota harness because its reverse polarity and may blow a fuse. Just do the orange-orange/black illumination wire.
Does anyone know for sure if connecting both wires with a Y connector makes a difference in reception?
