Stratosphere Mica Sports are a rare breed...

Wow, I just noticed on Toyota's website that you can no longer get the Sport Edition in Stratosphere Mica.

You can get all the other colors in the SE except for Pacific Blue, Dorado Gold, Salsa Red or the Stratosphere Mica. Now I know Pac Blue and Dorado Gold you could never get and Salsa Red was limited to early 2003 models, but now the Strat Mica...

What's the dilly?

I just bought a 04 SE Stratmospere mica. Im glad to hear they are rare!! I plan to post up some pics once the new tires are on and shes all cleaned up.

I was just reading the 2005 brochure a few weeks ago and saw that the Stratosphere Mica was not available in the sport. I thought it was a typo because I have seen a few of those on the road. I don't understand why some colors cannot be configured as sports. I know you cannot get a RAV4 Sport with gold either. It must be a Toyota thing!! Also, the salsa red is available in a sport. I have seen two of those already at the dealer.

NO ISHT. So, finally i am lucky with something. I guess that is true, cuz i have never seen another mica blue besides mine. YIPPIEEE.

And once this weekend is over, i will have the piaa's attached to the westen bar, and it will be all cleaned up.

I saw an '05 Sport Edition in Stratosphere Mica at the dealership. My final two color choices actually came down to Stratosphere Mica and White.

Both seem to be pretty rare in my area (I see a lot of Titanium and Black SEs on the road). In the end, White was the practical choice, though I don't think there was a "wrong" choice.

I also saw an earlier thread with photos of an '05 Salsa Red Sport Edition. That leaves Pacific Blue and Dorado Gold as the two colors NOT available on the Sport.

Stratosphere V6 Sport's are probably the most popular combo 'round here.......

When I was looking back in Oct/Nov, there were 12 '05 Strat. Mica SE's in the US out of about 600. I found an '04 V8 SE and got a great deal so I just took it.

Okay opinions PLEASE! I am being perplexed... I love being different... I'm debating on with a flat black out a much farther grey for the plastic cladding... there has been a cooler stock stratosphere micas turn up lately and I don't live it (being different) ... what do you think... I also want to do some blacking plastidip on parts of my wheels along with darkening the cladding...

That's funny you like the cladding. I like the plain blueness much better. A mica blue 4th gen sport is probably my next used 4Runner. Not fond of the 5th gens. IMO your 4Runner is perfect now. It's not as if it weren't unique already.

Mine is an 04 so the color is called stratospheric mica, and is very similar. .

Newbie here. I owned a 2001, 4-door Tacoma several years and would have taken it to the grave until some teenagers plowed into me speeding in an Excursion on an icy road. Totalled my truck and now 10 years and 4 used vehicles later, none of which I liked, I found this beut' last week. Of the many things that caught my eye was how much she pops in the sun. Doesn’t hurt that the original owner had it in Arizona it’s entire life until driving up the Alcan to Alaska just before selling it. I have a feeling I got lucky by seeing the listing within 30min of its post otherwise I don’t think she would have lasted long on the market. Real clean and brand new (well, less 2500 miles) 285/70R17 Nitto Ridge tires with a lift courtesy of the original owner.

Wow. I think I will be joining the club tomorrow! There is a Stratosphere Mica 2004 Sport V8 with 180k miles one owner in my area and I hope I am able to get it. Your 4Runner looks amazing. The blue really pops.
