Soon:
*285/75/R16 BFG MT KM2s
-These will go on the second set of OEM wheels I just got. I will have to sets, one for normal driving and commuting and one for weekend wheeling trips.
*Shrockwork's rock sliders
*Savage offroad rear bumper
*Dupli-color bed liner in place of the trim and on the rocker panels. This will hopefully be happening before the snow and salt comes...

And...

Newest edition to my collection! A 2000 Ltd 4x4 with E-locker.

White '90 in the back is mine as well. The silver 2005 is my fathers which Is what I used to tow the 2000 home.

Plan is to replace the water pump and timing belt to get her running, fix whatever the problem is with the 4x4 and clean it up.

Then swap the rear axle with E-locker into my '98 and the axle from my '98 into it. After this is all done I will most likely sell the 2000.

I'm REALLY excited about this. Soon I will be Locked!

Future:
Some sort of roof basket
IPF's on the ARB as well as the basket
Roll bar with spare mount and integrated carrier for my ammo cans(tools and equipment)
Molle panels in the cargo area as well as the back of the driver seat.
To Be Continued...

I'll keep updating as I make progress.

Congrats on picking up that 2000. You should just swap over everything from the 98 to the 2000. Thats what I would do. Good luck man

Thanks guys! I would swap everything to the 2000 but I like the color of my '98 way to much to do that, plus I feel like it would be more of a pain.

Also, my '98 only has about 10k more miles on it so there isn't much difference there, and already has a somewhat newer radiator as well as a few other things.

I gotcha man. I also really like green 4runners. Looking forward to seeing the e lock swap done. I am still debating between doing it also or just slapping a locker in my current rear axle.

Little snag in the E-locker process.. Just found out that it is 4:30, I need 4:10s. Not a huge problem. I found somebody selling a 4:10 E-locker 3rd and will be picking that up and selling the 4:30 3rd member. Then after doing the swap I will trade/buy and sell my 4:10 for a 4:30 open 3rd for the 2000.

I knew this could be a possibility when buying the 2000. Decided not to check before purchase because I knew either way I was going to buy it. :D

No biggie

Just use the front diff out of the 2000 that way you will have better gears and put the 4.10s in the 98. Problem solved for free lol

Yea I've thought about that but then I would have to re-calibrate the spedo. Anyway.. I have found some discrepancies..

When I did the wheel turn test on the 2000 it seemed to be 4:30, but is color coded for 4:10..

When I did the wheel turn test on the '98 it seemed to be 4:10, but is color coded for 4:30..

I'm so confused right now..

All 4runners that had e lockers have 4.30s. Tacomas with e lockers came with 4.10s

I'm sure you 98 has 4.10s. My 99 is coded for 4.30s also and mine defiantly doesn't have 4.30s. I don't like you would have to recalibrate your speedo because you are going to put 33s on it so that should make up for the difference and plus when you put those 33's on you will be happy that you have 4.30s in there.

Who cares about the speedo, the gears are more important. It's not a good mod if have to trade power IMO! Almost every e-locked 4runner has 4.30s so I'll bet your elocked one is too. Your speedo is going to be off whether whether you change gears, tires or both. Regearing will get it closer, but not that close. I twill be off regardless.

True. I guess I will just swap both front and rear. How difficult is swapping the front diff? Anybody know of a write up? I'll do a search.

Found some info on the front differential swap. Seems pretty simple, will just have a rough time removing CVs and fighting with rusty bolts/nuts.

Luckily, I will be able to kick my parents out of there garage to do this :D Just need to get my brothers T4R back together with his new OME kit and get his out of the garage. Then I'll pull both of these in there and get it done.

But first I have to get the 2000 running so I can actually get it in the garage..

Until then I will work on getting the Dupli-color bed lining on and painting my second set of wheels.

Got the major prep work for the bed liner out of the way. Had some major rust spots when I removed the trim so I sanded all that away and used some Bondo body filler yesterday and sanded it smooth today.

Unfortunately I have to return that trailer as well as go to class today so I won't be getting much more done today. Hoping to get it done on Wednesday, but we'll see.

I'll post picks of the process.

Oh yea.. did I mention someone stole one of my shackles the other day :(.
I was parked on the street out in front of my girlfriends dorm at UofM overnight..

Got one side of the bed liner done!

Prep-work
Cut my edges and roughed her up with an abrasive pad.

Going to start on the other side.

What do ya think?

looks good you should get some limited flares or bush wackers and paint them like that, nice clean edges though and looks good as is :thumb3:

Thanks guys :D I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I got the other side finished a little bit ago, and I've got to say, It looks damn sexy.

Weather was pretty nice today which was great, I just wish I had more time! I want to get those diffs swapped and take her out to play. Maybe this weekend, but probably not. I still have to help my brother put his back together.

Anyone know if the diff sensors are different from 98 to 2000?

Finally got my brother's suspension back together for him and helped him finish installing some new stuff for the engine (timing belt, water pump, new barrings etc.) and got her running. We had taken his rear axle completely off to do some rust removal and repaint it as well as installed some stainless steel brake lines so we had to bleed the brakes as well. Changed out all the fluids including both diffs, transmission, transfer case, engine oil, and coolant. Topped her off with a new air filter and got her running. :D Even though it is not mine I am extremely glad it is running perfectly on all fours again with over 250k miles too.

Then I got he and my father to help me push the 2000 into the barn and they left me to work. I decided I'm just going to work on getting her running for now, then I can drive into over to our house and work on doing the diff swap in the warmer garage and not have to haul tools back and fourth.

I am almost halfway there, I have everything removed up to the Camshaft Pulley. I just ordered a Snap-On pulley tool but am thinking about doing the "bump-the-starter" method to get it loose so I can continue working and then as soon as the tool gets here I can torque it down and re-install whats left.

Found that the water pumped seized, causing the belt to over heat and contract(not brake) which in turn cause the upper barring to blow out.

Good productive Thanks Giving t4r work weekend, I love it!
