nope. when I push the slide to open it opens the all w/o stopping, same for closing.

That's different then. I wonder if it's a programming thing. Mine def stops before it's full opening capability.

Oh - regarding my original post - it was just a social experiment on what type of discussion can solicit the fastest, non-title related response. The next exercise will involve a picture of a hot chick with a production line 4 Runner TRD supercharger in the background - note where the attention will be directed to.

I randomly learned the other morning that while I was sitting there for a few moments fiddling with something after I had already pulled the ignition key, I realized I had left the driver door window down. Before opening the door I absentmindedly hit up on the power window switch and much to my surprise, the window rolled up!

I couldn't find the thread on 'things you didn't know about 4 runner'...BUT, did you know the sunroof opens to a certain point with the auto open function, but if you try to open it more it'll open another 2-3 inches? Strange/cool/why??

According to the manual, it opens to the point where noise from wind is mitigated the most. It can be opened the rest of the way by pressing the switch a 2nd time.

I found this trick(^) out reading the manual.
Probably the first stop setting has to do with what Toyota engineers feel is the optimum setting for perfect airflow. Then the option to open it further is there. Amazing what's in the manual.
