Are there rear drain holes? My 97 was leaking recently and I unclogged one of the fronts, but I didn't see any rear drains

If there's an obvious crack, I doubt even a properly working drain would help that much. The drain simply keeps the water that gets through the gasket from getting to the headliner.
Because the gasket is not watertight for some genius reason.
There is a rear drain on my 99. I'd assume there would be one on a 97, but i don't know for sure.
My sunroof was leaking when I bought it, and after a bunch of research (though I did not confirm in person) it sounds like the sunroof/gasket are all one assembly that has to be replaced at the same time. I just RTVd my sunroof shut to deal with it later.

This is true. You must purchase the entire glass/gasket as one piece. They aren't sold separately, at least not from Toyota. I don't know of any aftermarket options.

There are rear drains, I think they empty out near the rear quarter panels. Water SHOULD fall into the sunroof assembly channeling and out the drains. But the top side trim / seal has a small gap towards the hood, I'd try sealing that. You can pour water in the sunroof channel, will be evident if the drains aren't working.

I stopped at the dealership today they told me the same thing... one entire piece glass/gasket... thing is they didnt have a price for me... i have to come back for that...
Anybody have an idea about what i'm gonna spend? $500?

Been dealing with the same thing on mine for months now. It gets a little annoying when every time you turn right water droplets sprinkle on your forehead.
I haven't found time to mess with it yet, but I'm just going to smudge a little black rtv silicone in there on top and bottom of the crack. I'd imagine that would stop the leak just fine and you'll probably never notice it's there.

I Know what you mean.... I assume that crack thats there isn't supposed to be there and so there for we get leak... tomorrow i'll go back to the dealer and see what a new assemble will cost me.. I'm guessing that if i seal up that crack the water will just find another path.. Like those drains that everyone is talking about.

It's supposed to leak into the channels then drain. That looks like a crack in the window housing, not the drains. Look for a crack in the window housing and plaster it with rtv. My drains plugged and my window hadn't worked since I bought the truck so I rtv'd the crack between the window and the roof.

I just bought a whole sunroof assembly from my yard for 50.00 from a 98 to go into a 02. It's easy as heck to change out. Involves about 2 hours. Philips and a 10mm, pliers I forgot. You may get one at your local yard for a little more. Definitely not 500.00
While you're there clean out front and rear drain line with soap and water and blow air thru them. Make sure you clean the drain rail before you connect drain line.

I've always been told NOT to blow air through the drain lines. You risk blowing the rubber drain line portion from the fitting, then you'd be asking for a lot of extra effort to fix it.

Sir I mean when if you replace the sunroof. Yours is shot, there's a crack that's not worth fixing.

Is pulling one off a junker out of the question? Probably no more than 50 bucks for the glass and everything. I'm sure even if you had one shipped it'd be under 100 bucks. I paid 125 for a mint one for my 1st gen from a member here.
I've always just took a small can of air and stuck the nozzle in the drain hole its worked out pretty good. I think the main concern is using a huge compressor and blowing tons of air through it.

Like the small air cans meant for cleaning off your computer? That would make more sense than a large air compressor
Yes sir, they are not large enough to move small rocks but will get dirt and pine needles etc out without the worry of blowing the tubes out. I also take a little bit of silicone and spray it on a rag and wipe the edge of the gasket for the sunroof helps keep it from drying out.

Those are the numbers i was getting from the dealer. and then he said it might take a while to find one.
One yard said $300... but that might be NY prices.
And now(this might be related).. I jumped in my truck the other day stretched my lap strap across me and buckled and it was WET!
The rest of the strap was dry but when you snap in the buckle the part that goes from my shoulder to the actual buckle part was Noticeable damp- bordering on wet.
I've got water getting in somewhere.... We have had rain for 3 days straight...Ain't looking forward to the weekend now.
