Skating led me to surfing.. hah. I skated as a teenager, rode for a local shop and did some occasional contests.. Wasn't all that great, but had some fun. :D When I got into my 20's I got tired of cops kicking me out of places and falling from 6'+ hurt a lot more than when I was a kid - Concrete is not so forgiving. So I decided to move to water.. and that's when I found my love for surfing. :yo: Rarely touched my skate stuff since.
 
Fun but frigid conditions this past weekend on the Washington coast. Ambient temp was in the mid 30's.

Leaving Wednesday for Mexico. Looks like there's at least a little swell hitting at the end of the week.

Did you get any of that last swell? Saw some pictures from New Jersey, none from OCMD though
 
I missed it ! I was landlocked stuck on a job in Richmond, Va. From what pix i saw it was a very good ,couple of days. Couldnt stop checking out all the Instagram photos and videos.:biggrin2:

Hopefully sooner than later my surf adventures will take place in a T4R. For now I'm in a TDI wagon(soon to be turned in to purchase a preowned 2016 Quicksand TRDP).

I have been splitting my surf time between NJ and FL. Soon to make NJ my year round break. Tired of the fickle waves in FL!!! When the schedule permits I love hitting LB, NY. The lefts there can get incredible. Puerto Rico during the winter when I can make it down. Last year I was fortunate enough to spend all of January in PR. The swell was epic all month...had to get out a few times when it just got too big!! (Image is my buddy Adrian(YES he's on a SUP)...I got out about 20 minutes before this was taken. Caught a bomb just a little smaller than this but of course no photos :frusty:)


I ride SUP's mostly but have been working back towards LB's and short boards(blew out my shoulder pretty bad a couple of years ago).

I currently ride:
7'8 x 26.5 Infinity BLine (supposedly 89l but think it's less)
8'10 x 27 Infinity Asymmetrical Gun 110l when it get's bigger than 3+OH

41 years young
5'10
165-175lb (depends on beers vs. training lol)

I am unsure how long the warranty lasts, but I have returned a broken wavestorm after a couple months and they took it. I would say if you have the receipt and its been within a few months (or probably longer) to be safe, they should be warrantied. Here in hawaii I see people returning them all the time. How long ago did you buy it?

Haven't bought one yet, it's going to be my summer beater though. Costco is about 45 minutes up the road so I just need to find time to dedicate to go get one

Oh sick! for sure get one, as long as you keep the receipt you can probably go back throughout the year to replace it

I stayed in Aguadilla(Ramey). Surfed mostly Wildo and Surfers. A couple of times in Isabella and Rincon.

Recently got back from Baja. It was an amazing trip. We got lucky and had a little swell to start the trip as well as we were told several times that it had been really windy for several weeks literally up until the day we arrive. Typically this time of year is pretty small, but the first three days we had consistent head waves with the set waves being well above. The best part is when they get over shoulder-high, the outside point really starts working and you can get some ridiculously long point rides.

Another bonus was the rental we had ended up having a little point right off the back deck. Was pretty small the whole time, but you could tell that it had potential when more swell would hit. Can't beat walking right to a wave!

Only a few casualties. One of my friends snapped his nose on one of the inside boils and another had a not so nice run in with a school of stinging jellies. Other than that, no complaints! Especially when a liter of Casadores Reposado was under $10...

I'll post a couple pics when I get a chance.

Heck ya. That sounds like a good time for sure. Very nice (aside from the jellies - ouch). Worst surf related injury I've had yet from the "wildlife" was a stingray strike to the foot.. and a juvenile "man in the grey suit" (round 5'-6') sighting that kept me out of the water for a month or two.. haha.

All in all, sounds like a good time though. Good on ya.

Ouch. A friend of mine stepped on one a while back. Didn't sound fun. He was in Mexico and said some locals grabbed some plants along the shore, mashed them up with some water and then put it on the sting. He said it immediately felt better.

Thankfully I've never been injured by an animated object in the ocean (knock on wood). I've been charged by sea lions a few times. I hate those things so much. We get lots of grey whales, sea lions and harbor seals in this area. Greys are amazing. Paddled literally over a pod once. Their breath is horrid. Harbor seals are the puppy dogs of the ocean. Coolest experience so far was last November when I was in Cali. These schools of dolphins would come out and ride in the waves with you, literally jumping out of the water within a few feet from you. I'm sure for you Cali guys, that's old hat.
 
Just got back from a surf trip to nosara in costa rica. Was a dream. Perfect waves. Mostly do cold water surfing here in Maine though.

Here's one of my catching some decent little rollers at higgins beach in Scarborough ME.
