The technique i used for the rails made them shaped pretty weird and thin. I have it planned out better for next time.

Unfortunately I don't [MENTION=56396]Hepar[/MENTION]. I had a 7'7 Starboard @95l it was fun and my current Infinity is 7'8 @ 89l Sorry I can't be of more help.

From your previous posts, sounds like you're pretty happy with your Infinity. What do you think of the construction? I'm in the market for a mid-7's/mid 90 liter performance board. I'm looking for carbon boards just for the lightness combined with the strength because I plan to be traveling with it.

Sweet photos! I really want to get out to the ocean and try some real surfing. I know its not exactly what you guys do out on the coast, but we still have a damn good time surfing in CO..in kayaks.
There's a couple waves that a lot of guys bring their long boards out for during high water, but the season for them is relatively short. Talking to them it sounds like a flat wave is a bit of a challenge to get used to, and there are these surges in spots that can flush them out of the foam pile, but it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.
In playboats we surf pretty much all summer on both natural waves and river parks all over the state. The video is one of the top playboaters in the world, the photo is my buddy throwing his boat around in one of our local parks:

Infinity makes a carbon version. Haven't tried it. I'd bet it would be amazing. I'd go with a Starboard Pro otherwise...the construction is incredible.

Wrapping a few things up with work, then time to pack to head to the coast! I try to head out every year right after the 4th to catch the low crowds both in the water and in the campground. Swell report is looking very small, but there's a few breaks that pick up decent waves even with small swells. Downside is they also pick up every inch of wind.

Been a a while since ive been on this thread, probably cause its been flat for the past few weeks, but I did get another toy for a different type of surfing - an outrigger one man canoe. Its about 20ft long and an older model (Kai wa'a pegasus).
I use them a lot at work and it makes 1 foot waves super fun as its much faster then any sup or kayak, ill try to post more pics once i get some and hopefully get some more real waves to actually surf

So you may have heard but we had an attack at my favorite break only about a month ago. And i've always wondered..how sharky is WA? Nor-Cal is notorious..and i've heard of some attacks in Oregon, but no info on WA. I imagine with such untouched prestige (and cold) coast line ya'll are def sharing the waters

Not sure about WA, but in kona (HI in general) we have quite a few tigers. I work on a beach as one of my jobs and here is a screenshot from a video my co-worker got while we were all paddleboarding. About 12 ft tiger, but of course pic doesnt do the justice.
As you can tell we were pretty much right over it and followed her for a while, sorry for the bad quality

Just got back from the coast. It was as the report said and was pretty small, but almost no wind every day, which was nice. Not to mention the water temps were pretty warm as well.
Honestly, I've never been worried about them here in WA. From the mouth of the Columbia south is a different story. For some reason, there's quite a few breaks around there that just feel sharky.
Personally, the only animal I've had issues with in the water are sea lions. I f'in hate those things.

Wow!! What a picture - so cool. What island was this? My buddy has made a few trips to the islands and says he is more nervous surfing there than nor cal. Although I think for me, the clear waters would be less anxiety producing than the murkey, dark & cold waters of Nor Cal. Just got back from surfing big sur and while it's really just my head, the vibes were strong :bolt:.

Nice. How consistent is it up there? I've heard you have to battle monster swells + a lot of wind?

Thanks, im in Kona on the big island, i personally would be more uncomfortable up there as you say the murky water, at least over here you can see whats in the water with you haha! Cali has been pretty busy in terms of shark activity lately[emoji136]

It's consistently inconsistent. Lol. The best breaks are in the Strait and they are the most fickle thing you'll ever see, but when it works it's amazing.
This winter in particular, the winds have been worse than average for sure.

I was blessed to grow up on Maui. got to surf all the great breaks before it got too crowded. I always enjoyed long boarding. I still have two OLE boards shaped by Bob Olson. I've tried to surf NorCal a handful of times but the whole wetsuit and cold water is hard to get used to. Lol

Recently got back from a coast trip. Summer surf is typically pretty small, but one of the spots that usually only works in the winter was working on my way out. Bought a new SUP recently. It's a 7'2"x26" JP Surf Slate. Love it!
