I really don't care to argue about this either, but I personally have gotten the impression from all the threads here that even the members here aren't all that interested. There are some of us that are very interested, but the overall impression that I've taken from the threads is that the community as a whole is not.
And how many of those 585,707 do you think were exposed to that survey? And how many will be used off road? Or do you think that 85%, like I see around town (and every other town I visit) will be driven by moms and sororstitutes who don't know what flares are?
I'd like to have some flares as much or more than most around here, but I don't think bad mouthing the company in this thread is conducive to getting the ball rolling on production of anything.
Also what makes you think they're going to share their survey numbers with you just because you asked? As far as I know it's not common for businesses to make their research numbers publicly available for others to see and build a product based off of.
Agreed that more than 90% of the 4runners sold are not going to be perspective customers, or even 95%. But that's still 29,285 potential customers @ only 5%. Heck even @ 1% would be nearly 6000 sets....
I don't care if they share the numbers or not, they asked for our input and said they would let us know if there was enough interest. They have not even done that, so I point blank asked...I did not get a no, or we don't share that, I got nothing..
As far as bad mouthing them not helping us get flares...... In case you missed it above, if they came out with flares tomorrow, I would not buy them based solely on how I feel about their company, and for the record it has only been one single employee that has tried to help and field question. If it was his company, sure, I would buy a set... But its not, and for what it's worth, I appreciate the guy that helped, but in the end BW has no interest in Toyotas as long as they keep there big 3 customers. I even got a reply from them saying that politely in as few words.
But this is just my opinion, you and zopperman do not have to agree, I started this thread when I felt differently about BW....... But a guy can only have so much brand loyalty to a company that makes nothing for them.
Don't worry, if they were on the fence about making them....my one set is not going to be enough to sway them away from it.
There was a time when I was a huge BW fan, and I have had them on 3 of my past vehicles, but the stance they have taken with 4runners will insure I personally will never buy another product from them. I just don't like being strung along, and left in the dark.
Sorry so lengthy. I get bored and then I start to ramble like this about something that's really not important.
