Swapping limited/Sport fender flares onto my SR5

I have a 99 SR5 with the black flares. I want to swap them out for the larger limited/Sport flares. I know mine just have bolts to secure them. Are the limited/Sport flares a direct bolt up?

If anyone has a set for sale let me know.

There is a difference between the wide painted SR5
as you said "sport" flares and the limited flares. The SR5's just go over the fenders but the Limited has side cladding that goes on the doors that is molded with the fenders. Both fender flares attatch with clips that go through square holes cut into the fenders and doors respectively although you may be able to attatch them in some other way.

Hey 3rdgenfan, if you decide to install the limited flares, I have an easy way to mark the body to drill the holes in the body. I installed same on a Ford Expedition. I put car Polish on the fender & let it form a glaze. Hold & then lightly press the flare with the clips installed against the fender. The tip of the clip will make a mark in the glazed Polish. Center punch & drill the holes. Use a spring loaded center punch that is adjustable for lighter materials, available at Lowe's for $15.

There is also a slight difference in the bottom shape of the flare itself. The sport flares would be much easier to install on one without the larger flares than the limited flares. As said above, they were meant to accommodate the bottom door cladding.

So the sports had the wider flares without the body side cladding and the limited have the cladding? I don't want the body side cladding. Just looking to install some wider flares without spending a good bit of money on the bushwhacker ones.

You'll end up spending a decent amount on the sport flares if you find a set for sale, and then give got to drill your quarter panels, doors and fenders too unless you buy new ones, there's no way around the drilling.

It was also an option on the 01-02 SR5's. Not sure about the 00's.

And to add, the options on the SR5's were the same flares as the Sports, not the Limiteds.

I have the skinny black sr5 flares as well, and have been planning on doing this swap for a long time. I have a set of color matched Sport flares sitting in my basement right now. But Ive been avoiding the project as it looks like it will be fairly time consuming. And Im weary about drilling holes in my fenders. But it has been done before.
