Added a member to the family today. This is Capone, he's a 7 month old pit bull. He's been very good so far.View attachment 152790
Aww congrats man.. I figured the name to be something like; Capone, The Don, Rocky, etc.. :laugh:
He's very "I'm going to lick you to death", loves to play but also just chills. He slept with us all night.. Under the blankets![emoji2] He's a big time cuddler and a big baby, ferocious as hell when playing tug of war! Lol I think he's a great addition to the family so far!
Haven't updated in forever, things have really picked up with the warm weather! Recent things I have done, replaced the muffler with straight pipe! This thing sounds awesome!
The other day I polished up my headlights as they were starting to haze pretty bad. Much better now, but there's a ton of cracks in the lenses. Will need to get new ones one of these days.
I used plastidip to make all the badges red on my truck, I'm really digging the new look!
The other day I about had a heart attack! I checked my oil and noticed what looked like metal shavings... After tripping ballz all night I went to my oil change place, they're awesome there, and they pulled the plug and filled a Styrofoam cup with oil. Then we ran a magnet in there which came out clean. Just to make sure we dumped the oil out slowly but didn't find any flakes! I then realized that my dipstick was missing the o-ring and that dirt was getting in there. So I stopped and bought a new one.
While checking everything else out I was looking for the source of a clunk and found that my strut mounts are shot! So, I ordered new ones and will have them by Friday.

Took a little jaunt down the power lines today to exercise the 4Lo, and cause I was jonesing for a fix!!! an offroad fix!!

What did you use to get the seat out and cushion out? I've had problems with mine for awhile now but the last time I tried to take the seat out it was bolted in real well haha
Just a ratchet and socket, took the 4 bolts out. Required a little muscle to break them loose and then they were fine.
Maybe try a little pb blaster, let it sit for 30 minutes.

Love that exhaust sound... where did you buy those strut mounts and how hard to put in
Bought them off Amazon. Amazon.com: KYB SM5640 Strut Mount, Insulator, Bushing and Washer: Automotive
They were really easy. Pull the two bolts that hold the lower balljoint assembly on the knuckle, unscrew the 3 nuts on the top of the strut, then the lower bolt, pull it out and then use a spring compressor to tighten up the spring. Then you just take the center bolt off the shock holding the cap on, take off the strut mount and slap on the new one. I think it took me 20 minutes a side. Its a little tricky bolting the two bolts holding the lower balljoint back in. They have to be aligned perfectly and that thing moves so easy it is hard to line it up. An extra set of hands is a huge help!
*If the strut is stuck up top there like mine just beat on it with a hammer, it'll pop right out.

Gibson cat back, then replaced the muffler with straight pipe. Lol

haha Nice! I was gonna say that sounded a bit more throaty then a normal catback. Why ditch the gibson? Not loud enough? Ive been thinking about getting that for mine. I dont want to loud or droney though. I think ive grown past that for my daily driver.
I didn't like that at higher rpms the Gibson got all shop vac sounding. Now it has a rich deep rumble all the time. It's surprisingly quiet unless you get on it. Less drone as there isn't a muffler to cause drone. I can still listen to the radio normally, carry on conversations, etc without any issues.

I believe you, but its hard to believe without a muffler there isnt drone or its so loud inside you cant think. I dont think I could make that decision until I heard it in person. However you video sounds sick lol

Been so busy this summer I haven't updated much, things to come though... Posted this in another section.
Get to order new parts tomorrow! All the bushings in the front end are SHOT! I literally have inches of play... So, since I don't want to screw around with bushings and ball joints I'm ordering brand new lca's, tie rod ends, cam bolts, and new ball joints for the spc light racing uca's I bought off Ark here. I'm also buying some super bump stops from wheelers for the front. Buying stock replacement lowers. Found a whole set on eBay pretty cheap. Also going to do some painting for the upcoming winter while everything is apart. I also have a couple solenoids going bad in the transmission. I bought some used ones and I'm going to be swapping those out and putting a clean filter in. Will post pics when I do everything.
I still need to fix my leaking manifolds, DESPERATELY!... Soon I hope...headers and exhaust first, then thinking of 6" lift, custom skid plate to tie in bumper, crossmembers, and frame so nothing moves, sliders, then some other goodies. Plans of buying a tubing bender from Harbor freight for that.
