The comments really let them have it. Apparently the locker and atrac weren't engage. You can hear the stability control in the background beeping.

I thought all the beeping was because he wasn't wearing his seat belt because he was so incompetent he couldn't figure out how to fasten it.

Even with lockers and a-trac, a stock height 4Runner has difficulty making it up this hill. The loose rocks (which at times measure over 12" high) along with the loose sand/dirt under the rocks with the steep incline make it a much more challenging trail than videos or pics can show. The proper line and momentum are critical. This can be extremely difficult to achieve without destroying the underside of your truck.

Wouldn't the seat belt chime be constant though?
The beep I hear is vsc kicking in. Maybe its wishful thinking.

Could be, it is clear Atrac is not on when you look at the wheel spin, having watched Atrac from the outside it controls spin far better. He is still an idiot complaining about the seat belt, IMHO.
If it is raining you will have a very difficult time. You can always take the right side of the trail and make it no problem. Let me know how it goes. It is a very short but pretty challenging trail. Good luck.

I find it funny that he complains about the seatbelt, it's the same simple tilt mechanism everyone uses to lock up the seatbelt in an assumed hard deceleration and/or rollover situation (it's basically just a ball or weight that moves and engages the locking pawl on the belt reel when it's not at true vertical). I would imagine anyone who has offroaded a vehicle made in the last half century who has had to unbuckle/rebuckle on the trail has dealt with that.
But yeah, it doesn't seem like he had the electronic aids engaged; you should have heard more aggressive clicking/solenoid noise from the braking system as it engages the ATRAC for the wheels like you do when he had DAC engaged at the end (on a side note, I don't think I've ever tried to see if my DAC works in reverse... I may have to try that next time for shits and giggles).

I watched the first few minutes of the video before I had to turn it off... He mentioned that the tires were aired down, but they obviously weren't aired down much/nearly enough.
I had to stop the video when he started talking about his vast off-road experience and then proceed to demonstrate his complete lack thereof.

To be fair he may have more experience with "traditional" off-road vehicles like older Jeeps and Fords (he does seem to blather about the Raptor) which would not be entirely applicable when you're talking about systems that the 4Runner uses as they can be both very useful and very finicky if not used correctly (or at all in his case lol)
That was ridiculous enough that I am still considering the possibility of a joke. I mean, even if it went down that way, wouldn't it get edited out?! So coincidental with his statement right before being an ass
Did it today. Place really is no joke. Did the left side and took a few attempts once I finally got to the top to make it. Kept digging in but eventually found the correct line and made it. Damn is that dirt soft!
