Cool. We'll be rolling through T-Town this afternoon on the way to West Point. That is the first leg of the Mississippi holiday tour.......oh boy, what fun........not.

I do not think the skid plate will look goos b/c I have
the silver front bumper. I will take some pics and do

HEY MOMO,

Does it matter if the metal strip is only 1" wide?

You just want to make sure the metal strip is wide enough when you drill the holes it isn't weakened.

Strong as a rock! My friend has a steel shop so I got him to
cut and drill me some metal strips. Now, I just have to get
the skid plate.

Those Tacoma Skid Plate mods look really cool!

Forgive me for being naive, but is the purpose for accessorizing rather than protection? Will they hold up off-road against a rock or a mound of dirt/gravel? I realize that a BIG rock will likely damage most plates, but these look as if they would bend or give relatively easily, resulting in damage the front bumper.

This application is just for looks. I hardly ever go off anything morre than a dirt road. i just like the looks of it. I know a lot of the off-road guys would see that as a waste, but that is fine. I had an off-road truck for a while and spent plenty on repairs. I am just happy to have a nice ride that looks good.

I just had my skid plate installed over the weekend. I found these great brackets from PowerStrut. They are 1/4" thick. Almost 8" long, and are pre-drilled for 1/2" nuts.

All I had to do was paint and mount.

I found them at Walter's Electric wholesale. I called PowerStrut, and they can have them mailed to you. But you should be able to find them at your local plumbing or electrical supply warehouse (NOT HomeDepot or Ace Hardware).

They are super strong, and it serves the purpose for this mod.
