I'm pretty sure they would have it for a 2000. If not you could get one and make some brackets yourself. That is what we had to do.

Sorry. Where did you get the skid plate? looking for one 4 a 2000 4runner.

I got mine on ebay for about $60, i think. Since I knew I would be using the brackets that were coming with it, the model didn't matter.

How did you mount those lights on your lower bumper?

If you are talking about the avatar pic, they are photochopped, but I am planning on mounting a set of Hella 500's there. I already have the lights but just need to make the brackets. If you open your hood and look down behind the front bumper, you will see two beams. I am going to mount the brackets to the beam, then run them out through the slots in the lower part of the bumper, then put the lights on them. I just need them to drop down slightly once they clear the bumper, to get the lights at the right height. I'll post some pics when I do it.

I was going to do the same thing. Actually, if you look at those beams, there are two holes pre-drilled straight through on each beam. I plan to use a bracket similar to the ones I used for the skid plates. I am not sure about having to drop it lower, because the plates are pretty thick, and bending them will be a challenge.

You could search under Tacoma Skid Plate, Tundra Skid Plate or Sequoia Skid Plate. i did a quick search and found this one.

I wonder if the 2005 Tacoma skid plate would also work? It looks pretty aggressive, but wouldn't want to spend the money and not fit!

Prado Skid Plate

I know this is a Tacoma Skid Plate thread, but I posted a pic of this Prado (aka GX470) Skid Plate in another thread and I don't think many people even took a look at it. I love the look, but I think it is a little pricey, especially without knowing if it would work. Well, what do you'll think?

Yeah I want to see pics! The pic you posted doesn't seem to show the skidplate.....or am I just missing it somehow? Edit: I adjusted the brightness of the pic and am now able to see it. Sorry, my monitor sucks.

honestly, with a westin safari bar, hood protector, license plate, my frontend is just seems really busy really busy.


with the bolts that i have now, the plate would line up slightly behind the the safari bar, and is as visible as everyones elses on here that has a skid plate without the safari bar.

Is either of these skid plate the right shape where it could be attached closer, or on, to the bumper? Basically, over the lower portion of the bumper. You know, the part that some 4runners have painted silver.
