Tacoma wheels vs 4runner wheels

The Tacoma wheels pictured are not the same as the stock 4Runner wheels. I believe they are 5" backspacing, which will place them further into the wheels well, which can allow the tire to rub the UCA easier.
There are a number of people who have installed them, and needed to add wheel spacers to clear. In general with 285s wheel spacers are needed since the tire is wider than stock, but since you are running 255s you may be fine. You still may need spacers though with those Tacoma wheels even with the 255s.
Also, not all wheels are the same specs across 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra...the most popular Tundra wheels guys run are 17s and spacers are needed with larger tires.

Didn't see that ARC had a link to the new ones... those are different than the first gen I was talking about. Sorry. He is correct. They will be different.

I can't comment on the 16" 2nd gen tacoma wheels, but the 17" "sport" taco/4runner wheels have a lot more backspacing than the stock 3rd gen 16" wheels. Speaking from experience. I could not mount a set with 315 tires even with a 1.25" spacer.

I had those wheels (2006 Tacoma) on my 4runner with both stock and my Sonoran Steel lift and had no problems with rubbing or clearancing even the 231mm Tundra calipers. I was running BFG All Terrains 265/75 16s and then switched to Firestone Winterforces in the same size. Again, no spacers, no rubbing, no added clearancing the 231mm Tundra brakes.

Interesting that you were able to run that wheel & tire combination post lift with no rubbing. I have the same wheels with 235/85R16s and would not be able to run any thing wider without spacers. My center of hub-fender measurement is right at 22". Whats yours ? You can see the rubber whiskers are brushing the control arm.
