Taking Delivery Today - Last Minute Advice?

Taking delivery this afternoon on my 2012 LE. Mag Grey, Nav, 3rd Row. Cant wait to get her home...

Numbers should be all set, all I have to do is sign on the dotted line. I also saw a thread here about what to do when taking delivery, which was very helpful -and detailed!

I wanted to know if anyone has any advice or words or words of wisdom. Should I specifically check or look for anything? I have been trolling the boards since I placed my order several weeks ago, so I feel like I already know this car inside and out, but I wanted to check in with the vets.

Good luck and enjoy. Some say when new throttle pedal is stiff for awhile and it was for me. It gets easier with a few miles though.
 
@4Run - I'm bringing my wife who has an incredible eye for details to do the scratch hunting.

@Philly - Already checked on the decal situation, its a HUGE peeve of mine- this dealership doesn't do them.

I haven't had a "new" car for quite some time; is there any need to keep the speed under a certain level for the first few miles? I remember back in the day, you were advised to "break in the engine" by staying under 50 for 500mi. Does this still exist as a practice?
 
Make your decision about Toyota extended warranty (you can buy it later, hopefully you already did a research on this subject and know what a good price is). Do not buy any 3rd party warranties.
 
- Make sure you have (or don't have, depending on your state regulations) holes drilled in front bumper.
- If dealer is going to wash your car, make sure it's touchless.

Manual has a dedicated section about that, page 155 in 2011 manual. Basically it says to avoid sudden stops and accelerations, not to drive on high speeds (:shrug:) and not to tow anything.

In a passenger seat - yes!
Take her out for a ride, have sex with her, etc, just brake in your new 4Runner by yourself, to be sure.

To keep your wife busy (in a passenger seat) ask her to pair cell phones with a HU (also dealer can do that), tune some radio presets, set time, check compass, etc.

Make sure you pick it up durning the day in day light, it's easy to miss chips and scratches under street lights.
Make sure it's full of gas.
Make sure you post some pictures too.
 
Another tip, look at odometer BEFORE you sign a paperwork. Brand new vehicle should have about 2-3 miles on it (mine had 2). If someone took her for a test drive, it will be more, at least twice. You can always check odometer reading of a brand-new vehicle (plastic is still on) located on a lot.
 
And finally- DO NOT GET OBSESSIVE ABOUT ANY OF THE THINGS MENTIONED ABOVE. Be sure to enjoy the fun that comes with going to the dealership to take possession!!!

As to OP, give yourself plenty of time. Do not rush this part, it may take several hours.
As said above, look everything over carefully for even the slightest mark. Make sure there is no more than 5 or so miles on it, preferably less.
When you get home, read your owner's manual cover to cover.
Then take it nice and easy for the first 1,000 miles or so.
Above all, enjoy.

There is an alternate school of thought that believes you should drive the new car hard with lots of acceleration in order to seat the seals better. I don't remember the link to the site that talks about this though. I read it after I babied my new 4Runner for 500 miles though.
 
I'll be honest, I love my LE with the 3rd row. Keeping the third row up and just rolling the back glass down makes for a handy cargo area for carrying things like groceries or other small items. Its amazingly handy.
