I've thought about trying to fabricate extensions.... or doing an anti rock type setup up front (but that would also require custom arms). Either way, it would have to be something a disconnect could be done on.
Disconnects for IFS are generally pretty complex. Even if it is bolted... it's not easy to get out of the way from the CVs when not connected. What I have on my truck now is a custom fabricated single sided disconnect (which results in the behavior of a full disconnect). It took a lot of iterations to get it right, but it works fantastic. Perfect road manners and perfect off-road manners. Just have to spend the time taking it off/on while airing up/down. The only slight pain is getting to flat ground to get it back on. It won't line up on uneven ground.
I'll probably eventually come up with something similar for LT (if I feel it is required), it will just take me some time to get there.
That was the entire point of this post really. I want to try to pick a coil over with as much adjustment and platform for road use as possible. I'm not really concerned about the offroad behavior because my main point of LT is more travel... not soaking up bumps at speed although I want that too if I can get it.
I'm starting to think ORIs might be the ticket. Need to do more research, but quick overview makes me think they could be the magic bullet for my particular use case.
