So I've just about gathered enough scratch to order the suspension stuff I want. Toytek/Eibach Superflex springs front and rear and Bilstein 5100 all the way around too. With the diff drop and the top bushings and washers, it's all more than I've ever spent on a vehicle, other than a set of tires. I say that, because I'm getting "cold feet" LOL.
My suspension is old and worn and needs work, so it's justified right? The rear just about sits on the bump stops inside the springs and the front too. Makes for a harsh ride at times. Truth be told, I like the truck more than just about any other I've had. The only ones that come close are my old Subaru WRX or my Tacoma per runner. Sure I miss my tundra sometimes (passing people on the highway and towing haha), but I never had the itch to mod it out.

I'll hopefully be pulling the trigger in the next week or so.

Do it! I went with the toy ultimate with 906s with two trim packers in the rear. A lift completes the stance and looks great. The ride isn't harsh at all and actually almost too soft for my liking. I have the bils 5125 in the rear.

Every time I look at it, I get a grin on my face. I even installed the lift myself which wasn't hard at all except the top nuts on the rear shocks. If you have the disposable cash to throw at it, it's worth it.

I was in the same boat with worn suspension. Replaced with the stuff you have your eye on, cept I got some LC springs for the back from a friend instead of superflex coils.

The plan was always to mod the 4runner so this was an easy decision for me. Not like replacing with new OE style components is going to be free either.

Exactly, life's to short. And some times my friends be making fun of me saying why I got a skid plate or rock sliders or lift etc. Even though I don't wheel. Because its my car, I like knowing that i have some sort of protection, never know when you might hit the trail and all those upgrades will come in handy. Rather be ready then not. As for lift, I love it. I think it looks nice, stands out and unique. Yes I can just throw spacers. But its cheap and sucks. So if Im going to replace OEM shocks and coils might as well get a proper lift kit. Does a person have to wheel if the truck is lifted?

I have to agree with everything. Most of the things I do to my cars are not needed at all, but I like the way it looks and enjoy working on my vehicles, it's my hobby.

Sorry to get side tracked OP. I would say that if you have the money, and need to replace the suspension any way then you should lift it if that is what you want to do. It's not really a whole lot cheaper to replace everything with OEM parts anyway, you might as well put the money into something that will make you happy.

I have the front Toytec/Eibach bilstein coilover kit and superflex coils for the rear from Toytec, and my ride is amazing! Definitely worth the $1200 I spent.

I typically do all the maintanence on my vehicles, so I was like "well I'll replace the suspension and do regular maintenance."

So I go to do some research on what suspension to get, and BAM next you thing you know I'm ordering a $1000 Toytec Ultimate, then I need wheels and tires to fit the lift, then I need tunda brake swap to accomodate bigger tires !

TL;DR. If you do lift it, you'll probably get the mod bug and be spending a lot more money on your truck. :biggrin2:

I'm already rolling on BFG all terrains, 265/75 so It'll look ok until I need noes tires.
The Falken Rocky Mountains from Discount in a 285/75 for $144 each (or something)
I had those tires on my Tundra and was very happy with them (put two sets of them on), so I'll likely go with those when the time comes. Can't beat the price.

And I did the Tundra brake upgrade last night, with steel braided lines, and have the rear extend steel braided lines sitting on the work bench

That's how my lift came about. Worn factory pieces. If you price out quality replacement parts (shocks/struts/springs all around) you're not spending that much extra to get what you want. I think it was 800 for everything to go stock and just over 1000 for the setup I'm running. You can do the math if you'd like, but if you're already replacing parts, you're not spending the money unjustifiably.

I started looking at it this way. Sure I could take that money and buy me some new gear from REI or a new project ATV or something for the garage, but the lift is something that will put a smile on my face everyday.
Not sure I'll have time to call and order today, but I will soon.
