Teach me about exhaust...

Hey kids it's new guy here again needing more help...

So I noticed a lot of you went with the magnaflow exhaust... Looks pretty simple and inexpensive... you cut out your stock muffler and replace it with the new one for about $75 if you install yourself and you get nice little growl... And it seems a lot of ppl have said there is no need to get the borla it is over kill paying $600-$900 for the catback System... But does anyone know if I can just buy the borla muffler to switch out instead of buying the entire system? Or is it not sold like that?

I'm gonna go with the Magnaflow cat back system. It's supposed to be bolt on.

Sure ,why not? The mufflers that fit our 5ths are 2.5" center inlet and 2.5" offset outlet .Universal Mufflers, Tubing & Hardware - BORLA® - The World's Most Winning Exhaust

imho, not worth putting aftermarket exhaust on a v6. You won't see any performance gains, and the "growl" you're looking for has as much to do with the diameter of the piping and outlet as it does with the muffler.

Dont read to much into the whole expensive exhausts always make 20 hp or are better crap. I lost 6 hp at the rear wheels with a borla exhaust on a zr1... Back to back on a dyno on the same day same weather. Your not going to gain enough to worry about so just go with the sound you like. My .02.
