I caught on the the OP pretty quick, but partly because i did the same type thing last year when I went from a +12mm offset to a -12mm offset & aftermarket wheels, pushed them out about 1.2 inches.
I'm totally with avoiding the "fat chick with skinny legs" phenom. I remember back in the 90s Nissan put out a Pathfinder with huge fender flares but then put stock skinny tires, it looked ridiculous... i'll try to find a photo... this isn't the best one but you get the idea (I never owned one myself)

5th gen and 4th gen guys are so different. from the responses to this thread, seems like you guys know everything then.

most of the 4th gen guys have no idea what backspace is, they want to run spidertrax spacers and run 285's on a 7" rim.

seriously though, 9" wheel with a 0mm offset brings it flush with the fenders. Not on 5th gen sub forum to know if this is a known fact or not.

5th Gen guys aren't all a certain way ;-)
but I think we're in agreement. Personally i don't like spacers from an engineering standpoint; they add an extra component that can fail plus its one more thing to screw with whenever you're doing wheel/brake work.
I much prefer just getting a wheel with the offset & backspace you're looking for. there's so many wheel options, there's really no need for spacers...

Why do you say that? IIRC, you 4th gen guys swap out your OE wheels for 5th gen OE wheels for a wider stance, lol.
