"Teflon" coating from dealer

Almost 40 posts on paint damage and not one photo?
WTH?

I could post a few pictures but it doesn't come out well in photos. The camera does not show it very well.

I enhanced (not edited) these photos a little so you can see them a little better. What you see are the buffer marks and scratches. Those are not just in that spot, but all over the car. The camera only picks them up where the light is shining on them directly.

I don't see those issues being a problem for a competant detailer. Black is VERY hard to take care of. First things first: Find out what needs to be done eliminate the buffer trails, swirls and RIDS. (= good search words) all three of those defects I see in the picture.

Autogeek is where i learned most of my stuff, but they only talk about the stuff they sell, i always research past autogeek to get a full picture, which is usually the same, but good practice none the less.

Again, ask around in those sites for a referral in your area as if you do it yourself you are bound to get a "Hack" detailer. When the hack detail is done your truck will look great, but all the underlying defects will still be there as he/she did not correct the problems , but rather covered them up with product with "fillers"

If it were me and my truck this would be my process.

A three-step process which includes:
a compound on rotary,
followed by a polish on either a rotary or DA polisher (dual action),
finished with a semi permanant coating (cquartz and OptiCoat) there are waxes and sealants but again, if this were my car I would do the coating.

The facts are these:

you can fix your problems to better than showroom finish
You will spend you hard earned cash
you will get forked if you go to a hack detailer blind.

Unless you have something on the paint that has distroyed it (brake fluid, etc) or scratches through the clearcoat any competent detailer can fix it. Actually many regular people can fix it. It is not hard or expensive. Your pics show scratches and buffer marks which can be easily fixed. Get the wrap if you want but you don't need it.

Agree and also an option, however with it having such agressive defects it will take FOREVER to polish that out by hand and the end result will be sub-par to a professional. Just for conversations sake it takes me about 8-10 hrs to bring back a shine to a car this size. I suspect a pro could knock it out in 8, less if he has a helper

What the individual is saying is that he reached a settlement and it is resolved, most likely means after the settlement he had to sign a confidentiality agreement, so he cannot tell you anymore or he would be violating the terms of the settlement.
