I agree, but if the guy has his family, dogs, luggage and traveling thousands of miles why not give him the peace of mind.

Well....here's the way t'is. There are few (if any) places a person would want to change a tire on these roads leading to the Yukon and on to Alaska. Narrow-lots of road rocks and without shoulders....aka not a good idea. That said, bring a basic set of tools extra hose clamps and xtra oil water just in case. :rain:

For flats and stuff, I have a little extra coverage with AAA Premier, and a transmission service scheduled for friday.
Looking forward to heading out on tuesday, hopefully everything left at the house will fit

Made it to Flagstaff today, all is well so far
Load consolidation at our friend's house in Muleshoe, TX this morning
stop in Gallup, NM
Hopefully when we make it to Issaquah, WA next week I'll be able to really get some pictures up. Right now connectivity is limited. The next two nights will be at my grandparents who don't have internet, so I can only post what my phone can do.
Been averaging about 21 MPG so far with roughly a 1600lb total load
if anyone has instagram, I have updates here and there posted throughout the day - [MENTION=91878]DrDubzz[/MENTION] is my handle

Really enjoy going out there...we try to go every weekend now that it's nice out. If you get the chance check out Rattlesnake Lake. It's a county park with no fees and a fun little hike to the top of the ridge. There's also a few forest service roads around there you can drive as well...and some fun little trails around Issaquah. Poo Poo Point (not kidding) has awesome views of the city and on nice days has tons of people para-sailing it's about a 7 mile hike or so.

I love the Cassiar Highway - I try and take a trip up there at least every couple years. Are you taking the Alaska Highway to Tok, or are you going to take the Top of the World Highway via Dawson City?

We're taking the Alaska Highway to Tok. I think our two toddlers are about ready to be done with the road trip. We have thoroughly enjoyed it so far, but I think we're all looking forward to getting to our new home tomorrow. All that to say, extra mileage need not apply, but I absolutely want to do this all again in the future
