Since you're a very knowledgeable person, i have a q for ya!

Suspension on new 4th gen 4runner (2003) - specifically the sr5 non x-reas...

I'd like to lift it I can't verify whether it has changed or not...
getting sources that the suspension is the same as the 3rd gen 4runner.

can you dig some info so i can lift it soon!

Parts I'm looking into...

SAW (front)
OME (back... which one do I need?...
891 HD and N86 Firm (Prado?)

Sorry, i think you may have to call the respective manufacturer to ask them about the 4th gen 4Runner. I would NOT just assume that the suspension are the same between 3rd and 4th gen.

I know for sure that the rear shock absorber brackets are much different in the 4th gen as compared to 3rd gen. The upper bracket in the 3rd gen is deep up into the body. On the '03 4runner, the upper bracket is into the frame...you can see it just by looking at the wheel well.

I doubt that you can use the same lift for the 3rd gen 4Runner on an '03 4runner.

Remember also that OME's lift for 3rd gen 4Runner is NOT perfect...in fact, the lift was NOT initially designed for the 4runner specifically. That is why there are a few problems with OME suspension regarding different lift height for front and rear (rear slightly higher than front; thus, you may need to add spacers to front to match the rear height)...and it is still susceptible to sagging over time. However, i have heard that OME is going to come out with a 4runner-specific lift soon.

I would hold off any lift kits for at least 6 months to let the aftermarket companies do some research & testing on the new 4runner.

yeah i kinda figured.... I also heard that OME is making a system specific for the 4th gen.... hopefully it'll be soon....

I also heard that the front are the same (or the saw's should work...) but w/o the back it's useless so I guess I have to wait and see
