New question..
those of us running SCs...
are any of you running catch cans?
I recently opened up my top half to get to some sensors and damn there has been some oil build up in there...
I need to get a catch can ASAP.
pcv is all wet and im sure its coming from when I am in boost.
CATCH CANS, who, what brand, where, price?

Yep has a light strip around the circumference to illuminate the gauge.

A catch can is almost most commonly understood as a filter between your PCV and where it leads back into at the top of the intake. Just after the throttle body and before the SC..
Its purpose is to catch all the oil that gets brought up in the PCV and filters out the oil before letting only "air" back into the intake.
Usually most common amongst boosted vehicles only as we create more oil pressure than stock which can cause the oil up the PCV.
You'd be amazed how much oil comes out of that shit.
Here's a photo of a generic oil catch can.
Quick search on youtube, this seems like a decent video that shows just how much shit it can catch and how much of it goes back up to the intake..
I took my top half of the motor off to change some sensors and it was pretty damn dirty.
Went out and did a seafoam the day after to help clean some of that shit out.

Thats great info. We used to run something similar in our VW sand cars and I don't know why I never thought of it on my Runner. Definitely gonna add one of these. Thank you. This is the first I've heard anyone mention it in all the talk about SC'd 3.4.

Well I gone and got me a SC!
Picked it up off of CL I was the first out of 35 people that responded and the seller was kind enough to hold it for me till I was able to pick it up.
SO, I have a feeling this thread is going to be priceless as I am going to take it apart and do a rebuild on all bearings and seals might even get the roots recovered or might leave them stripped and clean.
It's a 1st gen, and said to have 60,000 on it however I can't see this as being legit, thus is the reason for the rebuild.
If I decide to send it off who is the best place to put my faith and money into?
Monguson(SP) the people who built it to begin with
I haven't decided if I'm just going to install with new thermostat and plugs or do the 7th kit, decision, decision oh well these are good problems to have.
