The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Yeah exactly what I'm hoping.

Ok so another general question.

I go part throttle and my AFR drop to 13 ish. Then (month ago I go wot it would drop to 12) now I go wot and it downshifts and my injector stops and afr jump up to like 15 still wot and still high boost.

So I look at my computer and what the urd settings is reading and the boost drops off at that point to where it's not programmed to be turning on (like 1 psi).

So I'm wondering if I have a hose that expands and let's boost bleed off or my MAP sensor is not working. Idk....

Unless there is a leak the pressure will stay constant.

Idk man it sucks because our situation are really different. I start to add fuel just before boost and once I am in my AFR is 12.0-12.9 up until wot where I'm at 11.4-11.7 (had another tuning sess today with my buddy driving).

Yeah. I've got so many damn connections it's hard to tell where it could be. I've wrapped everything in electrical tape then zip tie over it on every connections. I might just buy some hose and wire it right to the urd and see if it goes away.

So I'm thinking it holds boost with a higher static friction then as boost increases it breaks the seal and bleeds off as static friction lets loose of the seal.

If you have the right size hose (4mm) there is no way it could leak with a zip tie and tape around it. Plus you would see the pressure drop on the boost gauge.

Are you using the special suppression "T" connector from URD for the boost input? It's supposed to suppress the pulses from the SC? And the actual pillar gauge and URD are using the same port correct? The FPR port...
Also, I'm wondering if one of your settings got tweaked with the unit as to how it displays the values. You can go deep into the software settings and compare to somebody like me for example.

No on. The special T connectors.
Yes they are all connect d to the FPR and back of the supercharger brass barb

I've been waiting for someone who actually set up and tuned their truck to compare settings with.

Send me a pm with your phone number and we can go over it.

I would contact URD and get the special "T" that comes with the original kit. I'm betting that the map sensor inside the magic black box doesn't have a really really fast refresh rate and you're picking up blips of "averages" which would be caused by those pulses that the "magic T" eliminates.
Like watching a digital voltmeter when testing a turn signal bulb socket...you'll just see random numbers because it's on/off on/off on/off and the meter just reads an average for a specify split second in time. Probably same scenario for your set up.
Get in touch with gadget and get the special "t" man. Gotta be the cheapest easiest attempt.

Allright I officially started the write up now! Now that I have a tune to post up with it I should be able to finish it tonight!

Problem solved!!!!! Hells yeah!!

If you guys remember I was getting low boost numbers and bleeding off when I was at high rpm.

Well I am proud to say I am now up to 8 psi and no more "bleed off" so I thought.

See if you can find out what the problem was?

Tell us dick [emoji14] the suspense is killing me!

Radical man. Put that feather in the old proverbial hat sir. Bravo.
Remember what the first three rules are when diagnosing cars:
1) check the basics
2) check the basics
3) did you check the basics?

Either way a healthy rig is something to be happy for. Keep it up

Alright guys, I know I have been talking a lot lately about my AEM project with nothing to show, but I have the basic install guide complete now! I have a ton more to add, but if people are interested in what the FIC can do and how it was done that is all available.

AEM F/IC-6 Install, Tuning, and Help

Finish up my 7th injector wrote up. I've got finals.

Yours looks so good.

Thanks, It's still got a long way to go lol. I have to do the advanced write up for people who want to make their own piggyback harness from scratch, but I figured I would get a rough install manual up ASAP.

Any one here have a boost gauge installed? If you do how did you route the hose to the supercharger? Im having trouble finding a route through the firewall.

Also I'm not mounting mine on the A Pillar like most people do.

Any advice or photos on how you did it would be great!

Mine is routed through the FW via a small hole drilled by my clutch master cylinder.

OK, quick break from tuning tech. Now after rendering my wallet to a license holder it will be next spring before I can do any more major upgrades. Anything over 50 bucks is major in my house.
I have to say I am generally pleased with the performance of the SC by itself. It is not my DD so I run 93 octane with 1 gallon of 100 octane. This works great no knock no ping. My question is since I am also still getting air from an all stock air box do you guy's think I really need to get more air?
