The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Why NGKs over denso? And i wont be running any fuel mods for about a month would that be a problem ?

I haven't ever ran the NGK's but it is an option that has been used in the past. I'm not really sold on the Irdium densos as they are sensitive when installing and I just feel a multiple tipped plug will be better for longevity.

I don't know how many times I will need to sat it, but the TRD supercharger system will run just fine with out fuel mods. They are literally optional. For some there are problems associated with the supercharger but that is very few from what I am seeing. just don't beat it and you'll be fine. I do recommend getting a wide band as soon as possible though.

Stop spreading lies! haha

I ran mine with no fuel mods for over a year no problem and my previous tacoma with an SC was ran for 70k with just the SC.

And their saying the densos wont fit on my runner ? Sorry im new to the supercharger world

They're idiots, but seriously, the IK22's work.

Ok, some good news on my supercharger. Removed the pully bolt and moved the pully forward just alittle with a rubber mallet. It is much smoother now. Maybe the PO pushed the pully in a little too much? Anyway, how do I know the correct position that the pully should be in?

I forget for the stock pulley, but that is weird. When I reinstalled my stock pulley I just pushed it on till it stopped. was it on backwards? I'll check the video again.

IIRC it's 4.3. Don't hold me to that, I don't have the instructions in front of me. That's also with installing the URD kit if that makes a difference. Maybe someone else can confirm -

I think you mean .043 but yes.

Ya that's what gadget says and those are the exact plugs I got in my kit. My truck runs fine with those. Also ran fine with Denso twin electrode ones too. I don't even think if the actual vehicle manual tells you to gap the twin ones. I know Toyota calls for 2 electrode ones right on a sticker on the engine, and I always thought they came pre gapped when they had 2.
But it'll be fine man. Some guys run .035" without qualms. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, it's not a dragster.

Still ting to figure out my issue with the hard to turn pully. So I have removed the pully. Notice anything 'off'? Seems like the pully is too far on the bolt so it is rubbing cause the issue. How do I get this thing back on? It is easy to install the wrong way. In fact I can wiggle it some. The only place it really seems to really have good contact is the first little part(the darker area inside the pully).

Looks like pulley was too far on like you said. I don't know how he managed that but you may need a new pulley or drift key.
