The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Too little too late for you guys now but that's why I installed bypass switches. Not only for smog, but in case there is a suspected URD malfunction which could be both your guys' problems.

Shooter I'm not terribly far from you. Like maybe three hrs westernly on I80. Not sure if you could make it here and f*ck with the software if you didn't have a laptop. Could use mine. You have the number so you know how to contact me.
Sh!tty timing however as it happens to be my anniversary weekend soooo might have to bribe the wife if that did happen. Not impossible just difficult.

And as for Zacattack and the 02 code I would just make sure you have legitimate solid connections with solder and all that jazz. They all look right. Could just be bum magic black box... That's all that stands between the 02 and the ECU.

I've noticed my timing jumps around, what would control timing?
What elevation did you tune at? It could be because you maxed out your tune and now are in an unmapped area. This is most likely because the absolute pressure is higher in Reno than where you tuned it and the reason you get to 11.5 at the end is because that is open loop and the truck can handle it there...

Ya you can adjust it but I doubt that's the issue if there is slack. There are a few things I would try. First, maybe the easiest is a hard computer reset by pulling the ECU or EFI fuse I forget how it's labeled. But yank that for like 30 seconds and restart. It might just need to re-adapt. Second, make sure all your hoses and all the bolts are tight, including the throttle body (and it needs a special gasket as well). If you're talking about the black supercharger make sure the vacuum boost bypass valve is connected and all functioning. 3rd maybe clean out the Idle Air Control Valve. Those stick up and maybe it's gummed and stuck from a previous setting. If you can't find the thread on how to clean it I can tell you just let me know.

I tuned it at 4,500 and Reno is like 4000.

I have a CEL po330. Knock sensor

Ok i have the static tensioner and it seems my belt is alittle loose any way i can fix this ?
Should be able to tighten it using the adjustment bolt on the alternator, same way as you'd tighten the alternator belt without an SC installed.

That's what I'm thinking. Anyone in the Bay Area want to earn $300 plus what ever parts are?

Dealer wants $950 total.

Duuuude I'm the manager at an independent shop in Napa CA. Ill do it in my off time for parts only and $100. I actually like fixing cars so that's why I don't care. Give me a jingle if you're serious about replacing it. You could do it with me standing there in a fully furnished repair facility.... Just sayin

What does everyone's timing maps look like? I am curious because I find my self having to pull timing in an odd area. With the stock map from URD that follows the general rule of 1 degree per psi of boost, I had to add up to 5 degrees in the 2000-2500 RPM area and 2-6 psi. This I find to be normal since the 5VZ has difficulty with this RPM area and boost. However, I find myself recently having to pull timing in the -4 inHg to 0 psi range (pre boost). I am having to pull about the same amount (up to 4.5 degrees) just to eliminate the ping in this area. I find this strange. This is a hard area to avoid while driving because if I am cursing and have to get on the gas some to pass somebody or speed up, I usually enter this area and get the ping I am hearing. If I push the gas harder/quicker and enter boost, it usually does ok (still may ping). I think what the problem is is that I am just barley giving it enough throttle for the ECU to recognize a significant load and therefore does not pull enough timing in that area, but the S/C is providing more pressure (even though not boost) than stock. I am ok with pulling the timing in this area, just find it strange. What do you guys think? I also notice it significantly more this time of year (summer in Louisiana, some afternoons my IAT doesn't get below 100 degrees).

NEED YOUR HELP.

I am road tripping and spun the pulley on my second gen supercharger.

I am coming into Colorado tonight and I need a new pulley. Who in the Denver area can lend me on for the rest of my trip?

Any size pulley works. I'll ship it back to you in a week and a half when I finish my trip. I have woodruff keys. I just need a pulley!!!
