I made a mess. Thought I was on the home-stretch but I friggen orders two 6303s instead of two 6203s.

Stumped!!

So I'm now running the Devils own stage 2 progressive injection kit.... And I'm still pinging!! After hope that this would solve all my problems, I'm getting frustrated. The kit is working properly I'm using the 5gph nozzle, I have the IK22 plugs, I'm making about 8.5 psi... It pings after getting on the gas then come off it... Starts pinging about a minute later. It stops if I stay out of boost for a while... It also pings constantly at highway speed out of boost. Any recommendations??

You need to retard the timing. Have you done any tuning with the timing? This is really the only way to eliminate the ping. I get pinging before boost as well and had to pull some timing to get rid of it.

I don't have anyway to do that right now... I may have to look into MTD's write up.

so i think my belt is slipping a little and I'm wondering how to tighten it up more? i have the dynamic tensioner and its new basically, less then 3k on it. so can i tighten up anything to make it not slip ? i can't remember right now but i think the alternator pulley is on the same one so can i tighten up the alternator somehow?
thanks

Ok off topic, so I need to know what exactly does engine ping sound like? Everyone I ask says it sounds like something different. I've looked on YouTube and can't seem to find a good example. Especially one with a supercharged 3.4.

Main reason I ask is because I can't seem to know if mine is doing it. I mean where is the noise most heard from? Near the front of the engine bay, rear, underneath? I get a gurgling noise from my cat and exhaust but it sounds to me like it's just the tailpipe sound.

Id describe it as steel bb's hitting a pane of glass and it will come from the engine bay. The real term for it is knock and it sounds the same on all vehicles.

Definitely then the noise I have is not engine ping. Seems to be coming from underneath the car like a rattle. Like the cat is doing it. Anyone every heard something like that?

Funny thing is it happens every so often. Could be something as simple as the heat shield. I'll need to get under there and check.

My heat shield was loose on mine at one point too.

That is the best sound description I've ever heard for knocking. :bravo:

So guys you know I had my knock sensor problems in sacrament elevation just about sea level. Well my knock sensors were not bad just going off all the time, and going off so often it would put the truck into limp mode.

Well again in Kansas it happened so I threw some 104 octane booster in it and basically I don't get the code any more. At 1200 ft there is so much dense air going into the motor it's causing me to knock right around 2k rpm unless I run $10 booster every gas tank.

I am also running 7 psi part throttle and 8-9 full throttle. It's crazy! So really I need to go down a smaller pulley while I'm in lower elevations, change my timing retard on the 7th and or do a water meth to help cool temps.

Also with my 170 thermo I'm still seeing temps in the 200 during large hills. I can only imagine what my EGT are spiking to. Yikes!

Yup. You just tighten the alt adjustment bolt. Easiest way is from the drivers wheel well with a bunch of extensions... Then push on the belt, and it shouldn't move more than 1/2 to 3/4" with moderate pressure.

FIC is the way to go for you for sure. I am starting working on the tuning section again now that I am back from the UP.

Just spent $400 plus on the Devils own kit... I'm really trying to avoid spending more money... So frustrated, as with the stock pulley I had no knock. (Can't find a new stock pulley) I may try and come up with something that will have the pump spray on demand, or off of a certain level of vacuum. My temps don't get above 195... Afr's are all over the place because of the spraying.

I have a spare and I would trade you for your small pulley. Just a thought If you want to do that I am game, just pm me. you could dial in the Meth for the stock pulley and then get the FIC later when you have more cash.
