Engine bay fuel pressure gauge with S/C

Does anyone have an example of a fuel pressure gauge mounted to the fuel rail with a supercharger? I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

Hey man been awhile. You're running the 7th injector if I recall yes? If so, you should be able to develope a "T" into where the 7th connects with a more common fitting. I forget the exact size but I want to say like "AN 1/4" fitting or something. It's somewhere in the URD install guide I think. Those style of fittings should be available at an engine builder shop or online, but you gotta know what size it is

Option 2 would be a double banjo bolt. Basically, the fuel hose connects to the rail with a single banjo, and you'd need a double to give you a new leg as well as a couple other fittings. Again, the harder part is finding the exact size.

Sucks since in GM's and fords they have a shrader valve to just screw in a gauge. These are bit more complicated.

Hope that helps

Thanks, that's what I was thinking also, I'm going to do option 2 I think, I found a single banjo bolt with a female threaded port in the hex portion of the bolt. I think I'll Interface that. How's it been going? Things are good on my end.

Cool. Keep us updated on how that unfolds please. I'm curious how it turns out.

Going well here man. Jeez what's it been like a couple years? Let's see, had a daughter and bought a 5th gen 4Runner to go along with the 4Reak. Just keeping on truckin

Hey I got a question for you.

Do you run IRIDIUM IK20 spark plugs or IKH22 spark plugs on your supercharger?

I ran my supercharger with stock spark plugs for almost 6 years. They were Denso or NGK from napa auto, and where whatever their catalog called for. Twin electrode plugs, normal hear range.

I didn't upgrade to the IRIDIUM until I put in the 7th injector and I want to say those are IK22's but not 100%.

If you're only running 6 injectors on stock fuel, factory plugs should be fine. TRD designed the SC to work on the factory engine. There's actually a fair amount of debate regarding excessive/premature spark plug wear when using the single electrode design on our 3.4's

Hope that helps.

You're over thinking it.

The difference is going to be hardly noticeable. Put in a fresh set of any plugs you choose and enjoy the ride. Don't like it? Plugs are easy to change anyhow on these. Chasing every ounce of power out of these is a long expensive battle. There are tons of guys on here with smaller pulleys, 7 injectors with hours of tuning, meth injection, turbo setups yadda yadda and they still want more juice.

My recommendation is to pick a stopping point, achieve it, and accept the results.

If your goal is the feel of Chevy V8 power, then you're going to need to put a Chevy V8 in your truck. Not saying a SC isn't worth it, as I would NEVER go back, but in my experience, it was just the little extra oooomf these engines need. Not a miracle fix. It's a heavy, bulky truck build for longevity.

That's my $.02 and good luck dude

I’m not necessarily trying to do anything fancy with my supercharger (at least not yet, like fuel mods later on (7th injector & fuel pump) but simply run the plugs that other people have had success with.. TRD parts for you has both the IK20 & IKH22 & everyone I’ve read up on has the 22’s... so I guess I’m just curious if the 20’s will run ok for a couple weeks until I get the 22’s...

Bigger question:
Do you know where I can get the IAC one way check valve ?

Part number 00602-17620-065

Toyota doesn’t know what in the hell im talking about. After further explanation of what it is, they were quick to say it’s discontinued ...

I’m confused if 2001-2002 even need this step...

Another thread mentions using a PCV valve from a 93-96 Isuzu Rodeo. Just needs to be straight, without bends and allows air to flow only one way. Instead of tracking down exact part, go to Napa Auto or Autozone and have them pull a couple Isuzu PCV valves. Probably like a $5 part. Better than searching for weeks for the right one. Otherwise, maybe eBay?

Idk what engine you’re using in your 2nd gen but if I understand correctly the 2001-2002 4wd drive front diff’s activate electronically... not vacuum actuated like 96-00

My engine is a 98 4Runner.
I think you're correct for the 4wd system, but I don't think that's the purpose of the IAC check valve. The reason why 01 and later models don't necessarily need it is because they have electronic throttle bodies and therefore don't have the IAC valve.

The check valve is to help the "air assist system" which is essentially just a breather "Y" hose at the intake to the IAC/throttle body. Without the check valve, the supercharger "pulses" mess with the intake airflow and give goofy results. I never ran mine without the check valve, but it's pretty important if it's suppose to be on that particular year of engine.

one way valve

I had the same problem finding a bypass valve. I was told to use this one by TRD. PTR29-60031 It was 7.46 at Camelback Toyota

Soooo no one has this part anymore... I’m Confused if it’s truly needed for our electronic control throttle body?...

PTR29-60031 Is the other part number I found but everyone says it’s discontinued

What happens if I run the SC WITHOUT this 1 way check valve?

It's just a check valve, find one that fits the hose and you are set. The number I gave you was from a Corolla I was told.

I'm not sure how the engine will behave without it?

Yeah I called camelback & provided the PTR29-60031 part number & they said not in stock & is discontinued. eBay has it for $40!

They should be able to cross reference it to another number, it's a fairly common part that is just given different part numbers across the model ranges of vehicles.

If not I would call toyota and have them cross reference it.

I will go through my notes and get the TRD guy Larry's number for you. He is the guy who originally developed the supercharger with magnusson for Toyota, he helped me.
