I picked the worse possible time to do the dual install. Middle of wheeling season and my garage hit 107 today. I had just enough in me to get the 99 center console installed and formulate a plan of attack. I wanted to get a lot further along but that's what happened. lol

I hear you. It was 108 here today and everything just wants to melt. LOL. Actually life has been so busy lately we haven't been able to get out and wheel for months. Gotta make a night run happen soon so it is only in the 90's when we are wheeling. I am also in the middle of a center console upgrade myself, and working on modifying my Addicted front bumper! Damn [MENTION=44220]BigFishAllDay[/MENTION] oh no couldn't just bolt on a really nice bumper had to modify it and suck me in. LOL .

This thread depresses me. I've been waiting on marlin to build my box for months now, (order place March 14th) and probably months left to go. Should have just stuck with my original plan on a trail gear box. The runner just sits there unless someone stuck calls needing help.

That wait is exactly why I have TG adapters going in my rig. Just wait it out. In the long run you'll have a better unit. TG still uses a single bearing. Marlin uses a double bearing. It's a better box hands down.

Thanks for updating the list. Just got done with the crawlbox mount work a few hours ago. It's ready to hit the trails. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It helped a lot when I started my research.

tailgear t-case

So I installed the "Trail-Creeper™ Tacoma Chain Drive Crawl Box by Trail-Gear (304424-1-KIT, 304425-1-KIT)" and took it out 4 the 1st time this wkend, everything is working great except when I am using low gear downhill, so I don't have to ride the brakes, the new case pops out of gear... I am being told this maybe normal and I have to hold it in gear or build a system that does. It's not a shift linkage, bad mounts, or body flex causing said. So my question is to others that have this unit if they have to hold it in gear going downhill...

Yes low in the crawl box, I pulled out the shiftier bar and the shift rail in the box jumps into neutral going down hill. With my finger on the shift fork I can feel the pressure build up until it disengages.

Mine would pop out under compression. Heavier spring fixed it for my - didn't pop out once on the Dusy trail. Not sure what the shiftier bar is.

Yea, originally told 6 weeks, they missed it by a few days err weeks.....err months.

I always prefer to run Marlin but I have to say my Trail-Gear Adapter is well built and has held up well. and I had it a week after I ordered it. Just saying.

Shiny. Gotta love Marlin. When I called they couldn't even give me an estimate when they'd have them in. Something about there fabricator not being able to keep up. Get another fab shop involved. lol

Just a thought but can you just switch the tail housing to an auto housing?

Yep. TG is holding up fine here as well. It's the go to company for impatient folks like us. lol

I know just like anything I can go from mild to wild real quick.
And 2nd is now that everyone has there set up what are the pros/cons if any to a certain set up. And what would you change if you could go back and start over.

How much of the work are you doing yourself? Has a big impact on total cost. Are you going stock or lower gears? Are you doing a triple stick or not?

I would not change anything on mine (TG adapter, 4.7 gear set, RADesigns triple) except for waiting for 2 weeks for Marlin to get back to me with "we don't know when we will have anything you need in stock" (how in God's green earth do you continue to not get a handle on you production) - but I have a manual. Maybe the auto people will chime in on gear sets.
