The "Party mode" tweak! (non JBL)

Thanks Op. I did this mod to my 2013 4runnner SR5 with no jbl/navigation. On the head unit my wiring was a bit different. It has different harness plugs and locations. I am pointing to it with meter probe (pic below) I also used a pair of speaker wire harness for the rear door jumpers.

Thanks for the detailed write up. I was able to find the right wire because you did a great job describing how to test for it.

I am pretty pleased with the sound after this mod. Just last week, I replaced the stock speakers. The subaru kickers for tweeters. 6x9 kickers in front door and 6.5 rounds in the back doors. Now the system rocks all the nice new speaks to the best it can.

Forgive my ignorance, but I have those metra speaker harnesses, it looks like you just connected the positive and negative of the harness (that normally connect directly to the speaker) together to make the jumper. Is that accurate?
