What are your thoughts on a 2.5 front and 2.0 rear lift? I need some new tires so now is a perfect time. When I lift it I'll get new wheels and tires.

looks like youve got a 2.5-3.0" lift going on in the front right now...

Really? Local tire shop said it was all stock but he didn't exactly take a hard look at it..

yeah theres no way that came from the factory. i have a 3" spacer lift up front and that is exactly what my suspension looks like. that big black block on top of your coil under the top mount, thats a suspension lift spacer

Makes since.... Thanks!! Since my t4r has a bit of a lean I'm going to say the back has nothing. I measured the spacer and its 1.5in.

I think I still want 2.5 in the front and would prefer to upgrade my entire suspension instead of just a spacer. Does that sound practical/reasonable?

You got a 2 or 3 inch spacer lift already. Coil overs will give you more travel, smoother ride, more dampening, but the same lift. Plus the springs will be stiffer to hold up a bumper and winch, which is about 300 pounds more weight on the nose.

Even though its a 1.5in spacer it makes it that much (2-3in) of a lift?

rule of thumb for the 4th gen, double the spacers physical size, thats how much lift you get, barring any sag from old and worn out suspension

As it's now obvious i don't know nearly enough as I should about suspension, coil over options.. What are my options with that? Since they don't give me anymore lift then I might upgrade to a 3in spacer. Will coil overs help with an old worn out suspension?

Coil over shocks up front give you the same lift (although adjustable for 0-3") but more dampening, higher spring rate, higher quality stuff, etc. The ride is jaw droppingly awesome. You can fly over speed bumps and laugh. My 65 year old mother who drives a BMW X5 with sport package (315 summer tires on 20's) remarked how well the 4runner drove after I lifted it.

Coil overs in the front and shocks for the back that provide 2" lift in the rear, and since I already have a 3" lift in the front, it'll match fine.

Yes, that's exactly what I have, the Icon level 1. That's all you need. You can do a lot better than that MSRP price of $1800 too. Factor in labor (you don't sound like the DIY type) and an alignment and you'll might be at $1800 total for that.

If you don't want to trim a bunch of stuff and chop your body mounts with a grinder- I'd stick with 265 tires. Here's an older pic of my truck with 265 terra grapplers and Icon lift. Also with 265's you can run one as the spare tire and it fits. You can't really get a 285 up there.

Oh how could you tell I'm not the DIY type.. Haha. Is it that obvious?

I have friends/family that are DIY that would help me with it. I know they probably aren't that easy to do. But is it possible for a few people do it who have never done it before? Or should I just hire a shop..

I'd have a good shop do it. You need an alignment anyway so it has to go in. Worth a few hundred. Or do the back yourself that's easy. Hard to separate the ball joints, squash coils and get em there.
