thinking of buying a TE...help!

so those two posts totally conflict with each other...haha.

It seems like either the TE, SR5 or the Limited would all be noisy if you put mud terrains on them.......

Are the seats more firm in the TE? Are they less comfy than the SR5?

That is actually a good question. I know the material is different for the seat covers. I thought they were different, as my TE felt a lot more firm and supportive than my dad's SR5. That being said, I cannot see Toyota making 2 different seat types for them. We need the more knowledgable members for this one.

I have a TE and had an SR5. Seat material is much different between two. Just as comfy but I think the TE fabric, while being water resistant, is thicker too. I think the firmness difference is fabric type and weight.

I understand, selling such a new vehicle is a a lot of competition with new, especially since I have added $1,000 worth of upgrades. No remote start. I really want to keep it anyway, I just don't want to pay for it but who does!

Silver is an awesome color on the Trail - looks classic from day one. I personally always wanted the blue so you need to get the color you want!

I checked on my door sill and there is no mention of the kdds.

I can tell you after previously owning a '10 SR5 2WD that the Trail edition with the KDDS is worth the money. I took it off road today in North Goergia for the first time and was very impressed. There is no way the stock suspension on my previous '10 SR5 would have performed half as well. Also on the road it provides a lot of confidence with cornering. After reading many threads here I do believe that you can get a comparable ride or even better by upgrading the suspension of a Trail without KDDS. Also my LT E rated tires make a huge difference both on and off road over the stock P rated tires on a new Trail.

yep, vehicles are getting so expensive.....that's why I can't sell our 04 sport 4x4 yet. It only has 130k on the clock and runs like a champ. Functionally it does everything a 2013 trail edition does...not quite the style...maybe a few things are better, but not 25k better...

I checked the door jam on my TE and didn't notice anything. Here's a few posts that explain how to determine if a TE has KDSS or not...

Doesn't the KDSS light up on the right side in the bottom of the dashboard ? Right before you start the engine when all the lights are up.

Well then that is an easy way to know if you have it.
