Thinking of Selling

I've been looking at a lot of SUVs. The 4runner and Xterra for 2011 are very close in size. Both are very nice, but the 4runner is available with many more options, but at additional costs. Both are bigger than my current 2001 Xterra. Currently the new 4runner is #1 on my list with the Xterra #2. did just drive the new Explorer too, but it is very car like, but also similar in size.

Take a second look at your comparison here...

I had on 07 Xterra, and the 4runner is much bigger in every dimension except for height. Longer overall, larger cargo area, much more room in the backseat, wider as well I believe.

Nothing against the 2nd Gen xterra (I loved mine), but the 4runner and it are very different when it comes to price and size.

A loaded xterra will top out at maybe 32K, and the loaded 4runner is over 42K. It's really a matter of what you want and need. Make sure you sit in the back seat of both.

Six months and 5,500 miles later, and I'm kind of underwhelmed with my loaded 2011 Limited. My ***** list -

- The throttle response makes me feel geriatric.

- Get a little crosswind and it feels like you're trying to keep a Winnebago on the road.

- The ride doesn't settle down and feel right unless I have 400 lbs. of something in the cargo area.

- Keeping it clean is a pain in the ass, especially the rear spoiler thingy and window.

- It catches every rock on the road.

- The wind through the driver's side window is ridiculous.


Thing is, I don't know what I would replace it with. If a guy was to walk up to me with $39K cash it would be gone regardless. I just can't fall in love with this one.

Should I stay or should I go now?

Jeeez. I don't get it. Mine gets as bad as 13 mpg (around 17 L/100km) and even with a few long highway trips barely break 16. Also checked with my local gas station and they say they don't use ethanol blended gas...

Weird for sure, on my LTD i get about 12.4L/100KM on highway and 12.7L/100KM in the city.
