Is there a non-vanity visor available that folds flatter? I bought an off-lease 2004 4Runner Thanksgiving week. All is good except the driver side visor is so thick it I find myself leaning forward to peer out from under it. The small thin secondary visor is adaquate so I'm thinking I'll remove or replace the vanity visor. With the seat adjusted to its lowest position my head is an inch from the headliner and I want to be able to see the windshield all the way to the top. If there is no visor that will fold completely out of the way I will be looking for an oval plastic plate to screw over the visor mounting hole.

There's suppose to be non-lighted vanity mirror visor. Rather the whole visor sliding, it has extensions. Whether it's thinner or not, I don't know. But the one in my Tacoma (with extension) is the same thickness as the 4Runner's and it doesn't have the lighted vanity mirror. There's a thread here that shows the two different visors.
How tall - 6'2". The mounting bracket was attached to the visor stem using a cir-clip so I was able to re-install the bracket sans the visor. I'm thinking I'll try to modify it by stripping it down to its skeleton and fitting a smoke colored polarized plastic sheet into it but I'll wait until I actually miss having the full size visor. Buying a replacement in case I make a hopeless mess of the original; $65.00
