I have been in sales my whole life. All you need to do is this...

Call her your silver medal, then demand she make you dinner, and then hit the bar with your friends. When she asks why you're being such a dick, tell her it's either the 4Runner or a divorce, and go back out with your friends. Punishment works sometimes.

If she decides the 4Runner, you're golden. If she decides the divorce, then just make sure you hire a lawyer that can get you the 4runner in the settlement.

Seriously though, you will have to draw it out over a couple days, but talk to her about one of your "Friends" who owned an Acura and had all sorts of issues with it, but play along and tell her you want to "Do some research" on the car. Play into her, agree with her, play into the scenario. When she sees that you are considering it and taking it seriously, address your concerns with Acura's warranty, the dealerships ratings being bad, whatever. Find some horror stories on the internet about Acura's, and just say, "Honey, read this," when she is around. At that point, you have bought yourself a couple days to find a selling reason to keep the 4Runner (Towing needs, trips to the hardware store, kids, pets, etc). Reinforce why you bought the 4Runner on the first place, and remind her that though it is tough on gas, the maintenance isn't, compared to an Acura, and the reliability of a toyota is Huge. I guess im pretty lucky since my pregnant fiancee wanted the 4runner even though she has a hard time getting in the truck. I picked up some westin steps and problem solved. She even let me keep the R1, dirtbikes, and offered to pick up a toy trailer.
 
Not quite the same story, but bought my wife a loaded 2010 Acura TL with all the bells & whistles. She hated that car from day one. Two and a half years later she traded that car in for a loaded 2012 Nissan Maxima and has never looked back. All my fault. Now she loves me again.

So i couldn't respond since I had to figure out a way to get my balls from the mantle where they have been stored for the last few years!

Seriously, I was really amused by all the suggestions, posts, and advice for counseling. I have been MIA since I went a vacation with family with no tech toys allowed so I am just now able to respond.

This really was a joke on me that I think is pretty funny, I just didn't tell you guys the whole story to see what kind of responses I would get.

So the full story is that I took my wife's MDX for some warranty work on the leather seats and the dealer gave me a loaner for about a week. I did this while my wife was away on a short trip. She came home to a TSX wagon and I told her that I traded it. I have a habit of trading cars so she believed me but was really ticked since the MDX was her dream vehicle.

So when I went out of town, she turned the tables. I should have seen it coming! I guess it really isn't funny when it happens to you!

Sorry calcrc.

My intention was not to troll but enjoy and actively participate in the one-liners with everyone. I just saw all the treads tonight as I'm typing and didn't actually expect people to respond as much as they did. I should have rephrased the opening so that everyone understood this was all about one-liner emotional arguments to use with my better half.
