So I have a 2014 T4R TEP. Is there a way to get the Navigation to stay on full screen when navigating?

When I set a destination on the navigation, it starts off on fullscreen but then reverts back to the home split screen. The navigation continues to work but it's on the smaller split screen.

On a side note, is there a way that you can have only one thing selected on the home screen as well? Such as only navigation or only audio? It seems like it forces you to choose between 2 or 3 panes only.

I've read the manual and checked all the option settings but cant seem to find anything.

Either try touching the navigation portion from the home screen, or go to apps, and select navigation. It should stay on only navigation from there.

Same goes for radio, etc. And that's how you would only have one item up at a time. I believe this is how it works. Home will always be a split screen.
 
Thanks for the reply. The thing is, when I select the navigation by pressing the screen, it only stays full screen for a brief moment before it goes back to the split screen.
 
There is a setting in the preferences (Select Options then Map Mode from the map screen) for displaying full screen or split screen modes. Make the selection after you are in navigation mode, there are like 7 differnt display modes.

The split screen is kinda annoying. Was just searching to find this very answer. Been playing with the navi but can't find the solution. Will try again the the morning.
 
its under setup or display to split the screen. been using split screen since the nav doesn't auto zoom in/out depending on speed.

set one at like 150/300ft and the other at .25 mile

also under setup you can change the setting to stay on the screen your on or return to your home screen.

Thanks for your reply. While those settings work to select the type of view you want when selecting the map to display in full screen mode, it only stays full screen for a brief moment then reverts back to split screen.

Thanks but can you be a little specific?

I know you said you have the map mode to display 2 maps split screens under 2 different distances, but the problem would be that it will only display that mode for a few seconds before reverting back to the split screen with the audio or whatever second screen it may be on the home menu.

Can you tell me which menu options you used to get to this setting? I cannot find this option. Thanks again
 
Ok. Just figured it out. Under general setup "uncheck" auto home screen and it will remain in nav screen when u select navigation.
 
isn't that just what I posted ? where else do you see a button on screen that says anything but "Setup"

Haha. Originally I was looking for something that shows/say single screen vs the dual or 3 screen option. I wasn't thinking about auto change to home screen. Lol.:-)

yeah not thrilled that you can only set the home screen to 2 or 3 windows. I prefer a single full screen of 1 function at time. now I just turn off the main screen and use the radio up/down station selection on the steering wheel or no radio at all and just leave my "display off" picture up.

haven't pulled the trigger to replace my 5" garmin with a new 7" as I miss a lot of the features my garmin has over the oem nav. I will replace it, but I may wait until the price comes down to around $200 instead of the $269.
 
2 or 3 split screen on a 6" is a real bummer. My 02 Lexus and 08 Civic comes with 7" screen and they are a lot user friendly then the 4runner. I guess I'll have to get used to it but at least I was able to figure out the auto return home screen which was pretty annoying. =)

Sorry I didn't understand you earlier. It was just too vague for me. After Mag4r's post I got it and went back and read what you wrote... It made perfect sense after I knew about the settings but was hard to surmise without knowing what to look for...
